Knowledge workers have been using it to write emails and debug code in minutes. Research <a href=\"https:\/\/mackinstitute.wharton.upenn.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Christian-Terwiesch-Chat-GTP.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paper<\/a> Christian Terwiesch, Wharton&#8217;s operations management professor, stated that ChatGPT got a grade between B- and B- on the final exam typically given to MBA students.<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT shows \u201ca remarkable ability to automate some of the skills of highly compensated knowledge workers in general and specifically the knowledge workers in the jobs held by MBA graduates,\u201d According to the paper. \u201cIt does an amazing job at basic operations management and process analysis questions including those that are based on case studies. Not only are the answers correct, but the explanations are excellent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a study, ChatGPT is used by approximately 27% professionals in prominent financial, technology, consulting and other services firms. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fishbowlapp.com\/insights\/chatgpt-sees-strong-early-adoption-in-the-workplace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a> From Fishbowl. ChatGPT can formulate simple responses to users\u2019 search queries; as a result, some have speculated that artificial intelligence chatbots could pose a significant threat to Google Search. OpenAI <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/blog\/openai-and-microsoft-extend-partnership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> Microsoft announced Monday that it would invest billions of dollars more in the solution to meet the demand for investments in 2019\/2021.<\/p>\n<p>Terwiesch explained that ChatGPT performance had still some serious flaws. The system was very efficient. \u201csurprising mistakes in relatively simple calculations\u201d These were common at the sixth-grade level of math. \u201cmassive in magnitude,\u201d While the current version is available \u201cis not capable of handling more advanced process analysis questions, even when they are based on fairly standard templates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT was able to fix itself after receiving a tip from a human expert. \u201cThis has important implications for business school education, including the need for exam policies, curriculum design focusing on collaboration between human and AI, opportunities to simulate real world decision making processes, the need to teach creative problem solving, improved teaching productivity, and more,\u201d The paper was also added.<\/p>\n<p>Terwiesch described ChatGPT&#8217;s answers as \u201cshort and sweet\u201d  \u201csuperbly explained,\u201d Addition: \u201csimple user experience and the great answer put me in a state of awe, and I am sure it has impressed many users before me.\u201d He concluded that he had given incorrect answers. \u201cwe still need a human in the loop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While discussions about technological unemployment have centered on blue-collar workers losing their jobs to automated robotics solutions over the past few decades, ChatGPT has brought up similar questions for white-collar professionals. Paul Krugman, a New York Times columnist and economist, recently wrote about the topic. <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/T8sis#selection-769.228-769.368\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> Artificial intelligence \u201cmay be able to perform certain knowledge-based tasks more efficiently than humans, potentially reducing the need for some knowledge workers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Krugman, along with other commentators, have also acknowledged that ChatGPT, and similar solutions, can speed up menial tasks for knowledge workers and increase their overall productivity.
