Michael McCaul, the new chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, likened the growing number of classified documents found at President Biden\u2019s home in Delaware to the Watergate scandal that ultimately led to President Richard Nixon\u2019s resignation.<\/p>\n<p>Friday&#8217;s acquisitions by the Department of Justice included more marked documents \u201cclassified,\u201d some from Biden\u2019s tenure as a Delaware senator and some from his term as vice president. Biden had been elected as a Delaware senator the day before. <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/19\/joe-biden-has-no-regrets-over-hiding-classified-docs\/\">insisted<\/a> About documents discovered on November 2, \u201cI think you\u2019re gonna find there\u2019s nothing there. I have no regrets. I\u2019m following what the lawyers have told me they want me to do. That\u2019s exactly what we\u2019re doing. There\u2019s no there there. Thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Martha Raddatz of ABC News\u2019 \u201cThis Week\u201d Chris Coons, Delaware Democratic Senator, asked the question on Sunday. \u201cHow can he say he takes classified material seriously when some of what was found may have been in his home for more than a decade and he seemingly had no idea?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, the important point there, Martha, is that he had no idea,\u201d Coons responded.<\/p>\n<p>The show followed with Raddatz\u2019s interview of McCaul.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis broke a week before the midterm elections, and they swept it under the rug,\u201d McCaul commented on Biden\u2019s document scandal revelation. \u201cNow we\u2019re just finding out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou think there will be tremendous political fallout?\u201d Raddatz asked McCaul.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d McCaul responded. \u201cYou know, Watergate started as a very small burglary, and it led to the president of the United States resigning. So I don\u2019t know what\u2019s there until we see the documents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe way I look at it, my wife is a Naval intelligence analyst,\u201d McCaul continued. \u201cIf she took one document home, classified, she would be prosecuted; me, I would be prosecuted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last September, Biden was interviewed on CBS News\u2019 \u201c60 Minutes\u201d And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rev.com\/blog\/transcripts\/president-joe-biden-the-2022-60-minutes-interview-transcript\">asked<\/a> about the classified documents found at former President Trump\u2019s home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI spread the documents out on a floor to make a record of what was found. When you saw the photograph of the top-secret documents laid out on the floor at Mar-a-Lago, what did you think to yourself looking at that image?\u201d \u201c60 Minutes\u201d asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow that could possibly happen? \u201c Biden lashed out. \u201cHow anyone could be that irresponsible. And I thought, what data was in there that may compromise sources and methods? By that I mean, names of people who helped, or et cetera.
