In August 2021 she was sentenced to juvenile probation rather than military school.<\/p>\n<p>Kristopher Baca, then 15, ran over the mother-child and made the incident viral. Sources said that he was shot to death Wednesday evening. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/los-angeles-hit-run-driver-who-plowed-into-mom-baby-stolen-car-murdered-after-light-sentence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a> Baca was last seen in a fast-food restaurant, trying to get food before his death. \u201cget with a girl,\u201d He then began walking toward his home. \u00a0After he had walked alone to his home, a car stopped at him. There was an argument and Baca was shot at.<\/p>\n<p>Apprised of Baca\u2019s death, the mother he ran over \u2014 who had moved away from Los Angeles, citing the \u201csoft-on-crime\u201d Policies implemented by Los Angeles County, DA George Gascon, stated. \u201cThe universe delivered the justice we weren\u2019t given in court, but a much harsher punishment than he\u2019d have been dealt in a court of law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think I feel shorted \u2014 by the system because they didn\u2019t hold him accountable and sad, not for him, but for his mom a little, because if George Gascon actually did his job, this kid would still be alive in jail,\u201d The mother said.<\/p>\n<p>After the initial hit-and-run incident and Baca\u2019s sentencing, the mother, identified as \u201cRachel,\u201d Submitted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/los-angeles-wrong-way-hit-run-driver-plowed-mom-baby-stolen-car-wants-early-release\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News Digital<\/a>, \u201cI remain incredibly disappointed with the justice system in LA but I am unsurprised to learn that I am yet again being denied my rights as a victim to participate and use my voice in the judicial process. F*** George Gasc\u00f3n.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rachel had hoped for a harsher initial sentence for Baca, who had no driver\u2019s license and was already on probation for felony poisoning after he allegedly spiked a high school girl\u2019s drink. She had hoped that the teenager&#8217;s hearing would take place near the end in November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought those were the last moments of our lives; we were dead,\u201d She stated in a victim impact report,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11237809\/LA-hit-run-driver-plowed-mom-baby-asks-let-punishment-EARLY.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Daily Mail<\/a>\u00a0reported. \u201cThat feeling, along with the memory of a car accelerating directly into us, will haunt me forever. \u2026 As the car approached me and my child, I stopped walking and moved the stroller and myself up against a building on the right side of the road to ensure that we gave the reckless driver plenty of room to pass. As the car got dangerously close to us, KB turned the wheels in our direction and accelerated as he aimed to kill us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was also told that his record would be wiped clean when he turns 18,\u201d She continued. \u201cHow on earth can that be? He tried to murder two innocent pedestrians. Murder. And we have video evidence. My child would be dead if I hadn\u2019t been there to protect him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGeorge Gasc\u00f3n doesn\u2019t value my life or the life of my child, or any other victim out there and would rather reward the monsters like KB by demonstrating to them that their actions have no consequences,\u201d She said. \u201cDA Gasc\u00f3n is telling him and every other thug in LA County that it doesn\u2019t matter if you try to murder people. Why are Gasc\u00f3n\u2019s policies prioritizing the livelihood of rotten monsters when my child, my baby, who is incapable of protecting himself, is left to fend for himself, and is essentially being told his life doesn\u2019t matter?\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is horrible.
