As stated in the Constitution, oversight is one the most important jobs of legislators.<\/p>\n<p>There have been rumours that Republicans may impeach Biden. But top leaders of the party have avoided this possibility. But that was before a cache of classified documents was found in Biden\u2019s garage \u2014 and then kept hidden until after the midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>However, one GOP lawmaker believes Biden has an insurance policy that will prevent him from being impeached: Vice President Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Biden has failed the American people and he\u2019s keeping some members from calling for impeachment by having a historically unpopular vice president,\u201d Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/politics\/kamala-harris-is-bidens-shrewd-insurance-policy-against-impeachment-boebert-says\/ar-AA16uXY2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth have failed to faithfully uphold and execute the law, and both should be held fully accountable,\u201d She added. \u201cKamala Harris is Biden\u2019s shrewd insurance policy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the last couple of months, Obama administration-era classified documents have been found at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., and at Biden\u2019s Wilmington, Delaware, home.<\/p>\n<p>There have been whispers about Republicans trying to impeach Biden. However, Democrats and liberal news outlets openly discuss dropping Harris from 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Harris is just 58 and is the first female vice president \u2014 the highest-ranking female official in U.S. history. Harris is also the first African-American and first Asian American vice president. This ticks a lot of boxes, especially for identity-conscious Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, the conversation continues. Some stories suggest that Biden should drop Harris if he runs again. Others say that if he doesn\u2019t run, the party should bail on her and pick someone else.<\/p>\n<p>The stories aren\u2019t wrong, per se. They contain facts, such as this September report.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/morningconsult.com\/2022\/09\/28\/democrats-believe-biden-should-run-2024-primary-harris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey <\/a>Morning Consult: Only 28% of Democratic voters would support Harris in a Democratic presidential primaries without Biden, a drop from 33% in a survey last year. You don\u2019t win the White House with those numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Harris was the latest liberal site to be attacked by Slate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Joe Biden weighs a run for re-election even as he becomes the first octogenarian U.S. president in history, he should think back on what it was like to watch the Harris campaign flame out,\u201d Christina Cauterucci <a href=\"https:\/\/slate.com\/news-and-politics\/2022\/11\/kamala-harris-joe-biden-new-vp-2024.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cHarris, a proven dud of a presidential candidate who has done little to distinguish herself since is not a good choice for the Democrats\u2019 top billing. For his second term, should he seek one (he shouldn\u2019t!), Biden should tap someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It turns out that Harris is even less popular than her predecessors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the country has become more partisan, vice presidents have been less likely to enjoy broad support among the public. [Mike] Pence, for example, had a net favorability of roughly zero for much of his four years in the White House. Joe Biden, Dick Cheney, and Al Gore all began their tenures with higher ratings than Harris currently enjoys,\u201d Los Angeles Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/projects\/kamala-harris-approval-rating-polls-vs-biden-other-vps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n<p>In an October issue of Capitol Weekly, Harris was openly mocked by the magazine.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/capitolweekly.net\/memo-to-democrats-beware-of-kamala-harris-in-2024-or-beyond\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piece<\/a>\u00a0headlined, \u201cMemo to Democrats: Beware of Kamala Harris, in 2024 or beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite her obvious intelligence, Harris just isn\u2019t very good, I\u2019m sorry to say, either as a candidate or communicator,\u201d Democrat strategist Garry South wrote. \u201cWhen it comes to Harris and 2024 \u2013 or beyond \u2014 Democrats would be wise to bear in mind the old time-honored caution, caveat emptor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The views expressed in this piece are the author\u2019s own and do not necessarily represent those of The Daily Wire.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Joseph Curl is a 35-year veteran of politics, having served 12 years as White House correspondent in a national newspaper.
