She was elected in 2019, her first attempt at public office.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The most recent &#8220;2023 Race for Mayor Survey&#8221; The results of the poll, which were conducted at the close of 2022, were released by local outlets The Daily Line (and Crain&#8217;s Chicago Business) this month. They show the state of play within the eight-candidate field for the post of mayor. Lightfoot&#8230;isn\u2019t the leader of the pack.<\/p>\n<p>According to the survey Lightfoot ranked fourth. Jesus is also an option &#8220;Chuy&#8221; Brandon Johnson and Garcia had 25 percent each, while Paul Vallas was able to get 15%. Lightfoot was polled at only 11 percent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The latest results provide additional analysis and deeper data. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheChicagoIndex?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@TheChicagoIndex<\/a> Poll read this report by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrottmanEli?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@BrottmanEli<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XJCwMcJjlP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/t.co\/XJCwMcJjlP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Daily Line (@thedailylinechi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thedailylinechi\/status\/1611047943322083328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">January 5, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Their survey polled over 1,700 Chicagoans, according to The Daily Line &#038; Crain&#8217;s Chicago Business &#8220;from a variety of sources&#8221; Their margin of error was three percent plus or minus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Crime is one of the many problems that plague Chicago under her watch. Julio Rosas, Townhall&#8217;s reporter on crime, has traveled repeatedly to Chicago over the summer to report on the spike in crime. She found that Lightfoot had lost her confidence.\u00a0<\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/juliorosas\/2022\/07\/05\/chicagoans-dislike-towards-lightfoot-grows-as-shootings-are-unending-n2609710\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">crossing the tipping point<\/a><\/span><span>\u00a0As a result of frequent shootings, and other violent crimes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>There are endless anecdotes that illustrate the crime crisis that has gone unmitigated during Lightfoot&#8217;s tenure \u2014 see\u00a0<\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/juliorosas\/2022\/08\/29\/mob-of-side-show-drivers-attack-chicago-police-officers-n2612357\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/span><span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/juliorosas\/2022\/07\/13\/offduty-chicago-police-officer-tries-to-break-up-fight-gets-shot-by-felons-n2610173\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/span><span>\u00a0for more from Julio \u2014 and she&#8217;s failed to provide hope for Chicago residents that law and order will soon make a comeback.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Evita Duffy from Chicago Thinker surveyed Chicagoans to see if they were in agreement with Lightfoot&#8217;s claim that Chicago is safer under his leadership.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LoriLightfoot?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@LoriLightfoot<\/a> She claims that Chicago is safer now that she&#8217;s in charge.
