Amazon said that it would make one-time donations \u201cequivalent to three months of what they earned in 2022 through the program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s stock has experienced drops over the past year, with a loss of $1 trillion in market capitalization from its all-time high in 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/technology\/amazonsmile-closing-down\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to<\/a> The Washington Examiner. Amazon also made some other changes recently, including abruptly closing its Washington Examiner. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/8\/24\/23320768\/amazon-care-shut-down-virtual-care-telehealth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">telehealth service<\/a> Stopping the <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2022\/09\/02\/amazon-warehouse-expansion-ends-hiring-workers-andy-jassy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">construction<\/a> There are many planned warehouses.<\/p>\n<p>Andy Jassy, Amazon CEO, will be inaugurated on January 4. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aboutamazon.com\/news\/company-news\/update-from-ceo-andy-jassy-on-role-eliminations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed<\/a> The company had planned to cut more than 18,000 jobs, most of which were from Amazon Stores and people in its People, Experience and Technology (PXT).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmazon has weathered uncertain and difficult economies in the past, and we will continue to do so. These changes will help us pursue our long-term opportunities with a stronger cost structure,\u201d Jassy stated.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon isn&#8217;t the only technology company to announce cuts in recent weeks. Microsoft is one example. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/microsoft-announces-mass-layoffs-to-cut-costs-amid-economic-headwinds\">announced<\/a> It announced this week that 10,000 employees would be being laid off over the next few weeks to help reduce costs.
