Democrats spent $80 billion through the Inflation Reduction Act last year, funding the program with $62 billion. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrafalgargroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/COSA-IRSAgents-Full-Report-0117.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polling<\/a> Source: Trafalgar Group. House Republicans performed their first act as majority members last week. <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/house-republicans-vote-to-cancel-bidens-billion-dollar-irs-funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">voted to rescind<\/a> Nearly $71 billion was spent on the IRS expansion. This would nearly double the size and scope of the agency. <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/policy\/dems-poised-to-make-irs-larger-than-pentagon-state-department-fbi-and-border-patrol-combined\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">make it larger<\/a> More than the Pentagon and State Departments, FBI, Border Patrol, and FBI combined.<\/p>\n<p>According to the poll, 84 percent of Republicans are against the expansion. However, more than a quarter (25%) of Democratic voters oppose the hiring spree.<\/p>\n<p>The White House defends the IRS overhaul and says it will target the ultra-wealthy. However, the Biden administration is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/economy\/small-businesses-freelancers-fear-irs-agents-target-them-first-hurts-smallest-among-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">expected<\/a> In an effort to generate more than $200 billion in revenues, we will target small businesses and freelancers. According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, 78-90 percent of new revenue from hirings would come with families earning less than $200,000 per annum.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, poor Americans had a greater chance of being audited and reprimanded by IRS than those with higher incomes. <em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/poor-people-five-times-more-likely-than-average-earner-to-be-audited-by-biden-irs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>The university&#8217;s data gathering center discovered that no group received as much scrutiny as those earning less than $25,000. 1.27 per cent of the families who received the earned income credit, a tax credit that provides a rebate for income and payroll taxes to the nation\u2019s poorest families, was audited. In 2022, the IRS audited 0.19 percent of the vast majority taxpayers.
