This is a fundamental tenet for white supremacy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs an astrophysicist, I&#8217;m a product of institutions that are steeped in systemic racism and white supremacy,\u201d Gosnell says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe tenets of white supremacy that show up [in physics] of individualism and exceptionalism and perfectionism \u2026 it\u2019s either-or thinking, and there&#8217;s no subtlety, there&#8217;s no gray area,&#8221; she continued.<\/p>\n<p>The professor is promoting an art piece of hers called &#8220;The Gift,&#8221; which is meant to be a combination of art and science and an attempt to break away from scientific metaphors that she calls &#8220;violent and hyper-masculine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hyper-masculinity is also described as the driving factor that is dictating Gosnell&#8217;s career in astrophysics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think because science and art have been so separated, and there&#8217;s &#8230; systemic issues within science, the metaphors that are often chosen [to discuss science] are very violent and hyper-masculine,\u201d The artist said.<\/p>\n<p>Gosnell claims that she was on a popular science program when she made her appearance.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1832668\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How the Universe Works<\/a>&#8221; in 2010, she presented herself as a masculine stereotype, which says she regrets.<\/p>\n<p>On the Discovery Channel show, Gosnell spoke about her research on the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mass_transfer\" rel=\"noopener notreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">mass-transfer phenomenon<\/a>, which says is typically presented by contemporary journalists in a hyper-masculine way, due in part to the nicknames given to mass-receiving stars such as \u201cvampire star\u201d or \u201ccannibal star.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was completely enthralled. [the hyper-masculine stereotypes], because, ooh, snazzy. I get to be on the Discovery Channel,\u201d Gosnell says of the appearance, noting that she felt that the  &#8220;price&#8221; Dishonesty in her presentation &#8220;was too high.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt felt like I was masquerading, essentially, as what an astrophysicist was supposed to be like,\u201d She continues.<\/p>\n<p>Gosnell contributed to the creation of &#8220;A 2019 Guide for Entrepreneurs&#8221;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UXmti7574G4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">immersive, participatory experience<\/a>&#8221; Discussing the same topic as mass-transfer, which was meant to be a gathering of participants. &#8220;consider connections, communities, and their place within the universe.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Gosnell stated at the time that she felt the project had made her feel better. &#8220;feel honest in [her] work and [her] engagement&#8221; These efforts were supported by the school.<\/p>\n<p><em>Like Blaze News?
