Clan members boasted about their connection with Joe Biden in order for personal gains.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA famous last name, business deals and a looming probe: Republicans ramp up investigation of Biden family,\u201d The CNN headline describes Republicans as aggressors. <\/p>\n<p>The story highlighted how President Joe Biden\u2019s brothers, Frank and James, have leveraged the family name for years to land lucrative business deals both at home and abroad. Joe Biden\u2019s son, Hunter, also infamously served on the board of a Ukrainian energy company raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars in <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/11\/27\/hunter-bidens-reported-burisma-payout-was-far-above-comparable-board-compensation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">excess compensation<\/a> Despite no previous industry experience. <\/p>\n<p>Many of the details branded as revelations in CNN\u2019s reporting, however, were already reported by The Federalist years ago. <\/p>\n<p>In May 2020, Federalist Editor Mark Hemingway <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/05\/21\/lawsuit-documents-allege-james-biden-committed-fraud-racketeering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> A lawsuit alleging James Biden, a former CEO of Americore Health and a fraudster in dealings with Americore Health. Americore Health was a rural hospital management company. Former Americore CEO Grant White claimed that James Biden promised to exploit the family\u2019s name and political connections to drive tens of millions of dollars in international investment toward the company. White claimed that Americore went bankrupt after the investment was not made. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearinvestigations.com\/articles\/2020\/02\/17\/federal_probe_for_james_biden-tied_firm__122447.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">raided<\/a> His home.<\/p>\n<p>Hemingway has published documents that claim James used money promised to him for his company to fund his personal expenses. CNN reports that James has paid $350,000 as part of a settlement.<\/p>\n<p>Biden family business deals are currently under investigation by President Biden\u2019s Department of Justice, both by the Delaware U.S. attorney\u2019s office and in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/10\/11\/is-a-joe-biden-appointed-prosecutor-letting-james-biden-skate-in-federal-criminal-probe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According<\/a> to Federalist Senior Legal Correspondent Margot Cleveland, the president\u2019s appointed prosecutor appears to be allowing James Biden to escape a substantive federal investigation in the Western District of Pennsylvania. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat the U.S. attorney Joe Biden appointed to the job, and who has since been nominated by the president to a federal appellate clerkship, is overseeing this investigation is scandalous,\u201d Cleveland wrote. \u201cAttorney General Merrick Garland should immediately tap a special counsel to investigate Jim Biden\u2019s involvement with Americore.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Garland appointed a special counsel to probe President Biden\u2019s apparent <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/12\/we-need-a-special-counsel-to-investigate-joe-bidens-classified-documents-case-pronto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mishandling of classified<\/a> Last week&#8217;s documents, but no special counsel was appointed to probe the corruption concerns of Biden family members using their proximity to the president to make shady business transactions. The family business ventures were among Cleveland\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/03\/10-scandals-to-keep-your-eye-on-in-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">top 10 scandals<\/a> Watch out for 2023. <\/p>\n<p>Transactions between James Biden (Hunter Biden) and prominent individuals associated with the Chinese Communist Party, CCP (Chinese Communist Party), were also facilitated. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/09\/23\/senate-report-hunter-bidens-chinese-payments-raise-criminal-concerns-extend-to-james-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">flagged<\/a> In September 2020, Senate investigators considered potential criminal activity. <\/p>\n<p> Tristan Justice, The Federalist&#8217;s western correspondent, is Tristan Justice.
