In business, I have no real fear of anything being destroyed. But heart things, when it comes to people I love, I have a really hard time. I end up trying too hard, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After meeting Jenna Dewan on set of the movie, he went on to discuss his relationship with her. He married Jenna in 2009. \u201cStep Up.\u201d The pair was one of Hollywood\u2019s \u201cit\u201d They announced their separation in 2018 after being married for a while. They have one daughter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe fought for it for a really long time, even though we both sort of knew that we had sort of grown apart,\u201d Tatum spoke of the marriage. \u201cI think we told ourselves a story when we were young, and we just kept telling ourselves that story, no matter how blatantly life was telling us that we were so different.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The \u201c21 Jump Street\u201d The actor stated that they were more stressed when they had a child together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause it is screaming at you all day long,\u201d He told the publication. \u201cHow you parent differently, how you look at the world, how you go through the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tatum spoke out about how deeply Tatum was affected by the initial separation. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the beginning, it was super scary and terrifying. Life just turns on its axis,\u201d He went on. \u201cThis whole plan that you had literally just turns into sand and goes through your fingers, and you\u2019re just like, \u2018Oh, s***. What now?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then he saw the bigger picture and gained perspective.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was probably exactly what I needed. I don\u2019t think I would\u2019ve ever done the work, I think, on myself in the way that I had to do the work on myself to really try to figure out what next. And really, it just started with my daughter.\u00a0I just dropped everything and just focused on her,\u201d Tatum continued. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it was truly the best possible thing that I ever could have done. Because in the alone time that I have with just me and her, we\u2019ve become best friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ex-couple explained previously that nothing major happened to cause them to separate, but that they did grow apart.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together.
