DOJ officials met with Biden\u2019s attorneys ahead of the search, and the two sides agreed to allow Biden\u2019s team to conduct the search without immediate oversight from the FBI, people familiar with the matter told WSJ.<\/p>\n<p>Biden was first to be found with classified documents in his private room at the Penn Biden Center, an think tank in Washington, D.C., just one week before midterm elections in 2022. Since then, Biden\u2019s attorneys have located more classified documents at Biden\u2019s home in Wilmington on three separate occasions: an unspecified number found in the garage on December 20, one document found in Biden\u2019s study on January 11, and five more found in the study on January 12.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans on Capitol Hill have demanded answers from the White House over the document drama and alleged a double standard between the DOJ\u2019s handling of classified documents related to Biden versus those related to former President Donald Trump. House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has called on the White House to hand over visitor logs of guests to Biden\u2019s home in Delaware who could have come into contact with the classified information. White House and Secret Service have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/no-records-exist-of-visitors-to-bidens-delaware-home-where-classified-docs-found-white-house-says\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> These records are not kept.<\/p>\n<p>In August, the FBI raided Trump\u2019s residence at Mar-a-Lago, the former president\u2019s Florida resort, to recover allegedly classified documents that Trump had refused to hand over to the government. In November, Attorney General Merrick Garland handed the DOJ investigation into Trump\u2019s documents to a special counsel, former war crimes prosecutor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/from-the-hague-to-obamas-irs-scandal-meet-jack-smith-the-new-special-counsel-to-investigate-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jack Smith<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Garland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/meet-robert-hur-special-counsel-investigating-bidens-handling-of-classified-docs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appointed<\/a> former U.S. District Attorney Robert Hur as special counsel to take over the DOJ investigation into Biden\u2019s handling of classified documents.<\/p>\n<p>The White House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/white-house-accuses-republicans-of-playing-politics-over-classified-docs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accused<\/a> House Republicans \u201cplaying politics\u201d On Monday, more classified documents were available.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHouse Republicans are playing politics in a shamelessly hypocritical attempt to attack President Biden,\u201d Ian Sams, White House spokesperson, stated. \u201cTheir demands should be met with skepticism and they should face questions themselves about why they are politicizing this issue and admitting they actually do not care about the underlying classified material,\u201d He also mentioned Comer&#8217;s concern earlier about the \u201cdiscrepancy in how former President Trump was treated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Justice The DOJ reportedly rejected President monitoring Joe Biden\u2018s legal team as it searched the president\u2019s Wilmington, DelawareHome for classified documents.
