He said that investigators were on their way. \u201cbelieve that this is not a random act of violence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe that this was a targeted family,\u201d Boudreaux said. \u201cWe believe that there are gang associations that [are] involved in this scene as well as potential narcotics investigations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The sheriff\u2019s office even executed a narcotics search warrant for the residence where the shootings took place just one week prior, Boudreaux added. <\/p>\n<p>This tragic episode marks the death of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/06\/aeromexico-jet-hit-by-gunfire-after-el-chapos-sons-arrest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mexican drug cartel violence<\/a> That has started to spill over the border with the influx in migrants to the United States. According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data (CBP), federal law enforcement has declined. \u201crecorded more than 4 million apprehensions\u201d In a year and half \u201cmore than the previous four fiscal years combined,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/immigration\/commentary\/the-next-congress-should-impeach-dhs-secretary-alejandro-mayorkas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according<\/a> To the Heritage Foundation <\/p>\n<p><strong>[WATCH: <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/videos\/cartel-country-the-untold-story-of-americas-black-market-on-the-border-full-documentary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cartel Country: The Untold Story Of America\u2019s Black Market On The Border | FULL DOCUMENTARY<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kevin McCarthy, House Republican Leader, was prompted to act by the surge in immigration and violence that followed. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/11\/22\/kevin-mccarthy-demands-dhs-secretary-alejandro-mayorkas-resign-threatens-impeachment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">demand<\/a> Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas\u2019 resignation. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe cannot and must not remain in that position,\u201d McCarthy spoke in November, less than a month prior to his election as House Speaker. \u201cIf Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action, and every failure [and] will determine whether we can begin an impeachment inquiry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy\u2019s district borders the community where the six individuals were executed Monday.
