Fox 5 reports that doctors told her it was unlikely that the child would survive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis nose also broke,\u201d Souder claimed. \u201cHis bottom eyelid is pushed in. He has bites all through his legs, back, arms and stomach. His ear was also detached, so they had to stitch it back together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Souder claimed that Semaj was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailystar.co.uk\/news\/us-news\/miracle-baby-survives-horrific-mauling-28975972\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">allowed<\/a> Although the baby was discharged from hospital within a month, there are still many appointments for neurology and plastic surgery ahead. According to the Daily Star<\/p>\n<p>She stated that Semaj has made such a remarkable improvement in hospital staff, and noted that everyone wants to see Semaj, even at the point where they arrive for appointments.<\/p>\n<p>Souder stated that the pair should meet up at appointments whenever possible. \u201ceverybody runs in his room and they be like, \u2018Is this the miracle baby? Oh my gosh, that\u2019s the miracle baby!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Semaj\u2019s caregiver reportedly left the baby with her daughter, and both children were attacked by the pit bulls. Souder said she didn\u2019t know the child would be near the animals, and it is unclear what happened prior to the attack.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Fox 5 reported the caregiver was the one who owned the dogs responsible for the attack. The Daily Mail however, also reported the same. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11554051\/Seven-month-old-baby-savaged-two-pit-bulls-left-brain-damaged-horrific-injuries.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> that the caregiver\u2019s boyfriend owned the dogs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Souder mentioned that Semaj can sometimes have trouble sleeping and wake up shouting. He also suffered brain damage from the mauling, she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI just pray and keep it in God\u2019s hands,\u201d Souder claimed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to D.C. police, no one was arrested. Both pit bulls were however put down.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">GoFundMe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/semaj-s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">page<\/a> It was established to support the family.
