Hamlin was given oxygen and CPR by on-the-field medical personnel, and then was taken to an ambulance for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The incident instantly sparked prayers and thoughts across American football. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\/prayers-pour-bills-safety-damar-hamlin-collapsing-field-game-not-important\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Current and former players<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/meaww.com\/prayers-pour-in-for-damar-hamlin-as-bengals-and-bills-fans-hold-vigil-at-hospital\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fans<\/a>, and sports commentators alike came together in support of Hamlin\u2019s recovery. Dan Orlovsky, ESPN analyst, shared his Christian faith in a more public way. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/social-media-praises-espns-dan-orlovskys-prayer-damar-hamlin-powerful-brave-genuine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">leading<\/a> His fellow \u201cNFL Live\u201d Prayer with colleagues on live television <\/p>\n<p>Despite Hamlin\u2019s dire scenario \u2014 which included falling into unconsciousness and requiring a breathing tube to stay alive \u2014 what transpired over the next several days after his collapse can only be described as a miracle orchestrated by God. By <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/06\/damar-hamlin-no-longer-needs-breathing-tube-in-huge-recovery-step\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jan. 6<\/a>Hamlin had no need of assistance breathing and was able speak with family members and hospital staff. The 24-year-old was taken to Buffalo General Medical Center\/Gates Vascular Institute shortly afterward. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/damar-hamlin-discharged-buffalo-hospital-cardiac-arrest-collapse-game\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">discharged<\/a> On Jan. 11, the hospital was closed. <\/p>\n<p> Josh Allen Finds God <\/p>\n<p>The heaven-sent nature of Hamlin\u2019s recovery hasn\u2019t just received notice from large swaths of the American public, but Hamlin\u2019s teammates as well. Since the incident and Hamlin\u2019s subsequent recovery, Allen has been vocal about the \u201cspiritual awakening\u201d he experienced throughout his teammate\u2019s ordeal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was kind of a spiritual awakening, really, for me,\u201d Allen <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/13\/josh-allen-explains-spiritual-awakening-after-damar-hamlin-collapse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> On the\u00a0\u201cKyle Brandt\u2019s Basement\u201d podcast\u00a0last week.\u00a0\u201cI know for a lot of other people that maybe didn\u2019t have the strongest belief, or wasn\u2019t the biggest [or] strongest Christian followers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s something I\u2019ve never felt before,\u201d He went on. \u201cIt\u2019s something that I know a lot of my teammates have never felt before, and you can\u2019t do anything about it but accept it and lean on your brothers and share that moment with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The remarks weren\u2019t the first time Allen referenced a newfound love for Christ this month. In a Jan. 8 press conference following the Bills\u2019 win against the New England Patriots, Allen openly affirmed his belief in God while discussing Buffalo running back Nyheim Hines\u2019 opening kickoff return for a touchdown. The last time Buffalo completed such a feat was three years and three months prior \u2014 the same number Hamlin wears on his jersey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was going around with my teammates saying, \u2018God is real,\u2019\u201d Allen spoke through his tears. \u201cYou can\u2019t draw that one up, write that one up any better.
