The shirt&#8217;s back is shown with the Coexist symbol crossed off. \u201cJesus is the only way\u201d Below is a copy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJesus is associated with religion and it\u2019s offending people,\u201d One of the security guards told the man.<\/p>\n<p>The security guards informed the man that the shirt was not allowed inside the mall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAgain sir, it is religious soliciting,\u201d In the video filmed on January 7, he said this to him. \u201cThere is no soliciting allowed on mall property, which is private property.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It&#8217;s not America, I assumed. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Q79eUCG7xh\">pic.twitter.com\/Q79eUCG7xh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 John Mason (@LivingGodsTruth) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LivingGodsTruth\/status\/1613556181460475904?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 12, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the viral video, the man admitted that he had previously been forced to leave the shopping center. \u201cpreaching the gospel.\u201d He was given a \u201c24-hour trespass for soliciting guests,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11641123\/Man-wearing-Jesus-Saves-t-shirt-Mall-America-ordered-leave.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to<\/a> The Mall of America has a spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p>The Mall of America\u2019s website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mallofamerica.com\/security\">states<\/a> Its policies prohibit soliciting. \u201cPicketing, demonstrating, soliciting, protesting or petitioning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The security officers in the video said the man\u2019s shirt was considered \u201creligious soliciting,\u201d adding, \u201cThere is no soliciting allowed on mall property, which is private property.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also, the mall policy states that \u201cappropriate attire\u201d Must be worn indoors, specifying \u201capparel that has obscene language, obscene gestures or racial\/religious\/ethnic slurs that are likely to create a disturbance\u201d It is considered inappropriate.<\/p>\n<p>However, a spokesperson for the mall said the incident was minor. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11641123\/Man-wearing-Jesus-Saves-t-shirt-Mall-America-ordered-leave.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the Daily Mail that the man was eventually not required to obey the security guard\u2019s order.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter a brief interaction, the guest was not required to change his shirt and was allowed to remain at the Mall,\u201d The representative spoke to the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p>Social media users were infuriated over the video, accusing the mall of violating the man\u2019s religious freedom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no way this should happen in USA. He has a free speech right to wear that shirt, and a freedom of religion right to practice his faith in public places. More people should wear Christian shirts to that mall,\u201d One user <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mj_charper\/status\/1615177911576707074\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Others suggested that people should wear shirts with similar religious messages inside the mall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so getting this shirt. We need to march in this shirt. March on the malls,\u201d Another user <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/postmikepost\/status\/1613715710118887424\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will ship a JESUS SAVES shirt to anyone in Minneapolis area that will where (sic) it to MOA\u2026DM me your size and address,\u201d Another user <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cullmanhere\/status\/1613713987144744961\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Mall of America in October caused anger among shoppers when it installed metal detectors at entrances as an additional security measure. This safety improvement was implemented in response to two gun-related incidents that occurred in August.<\/p>\n<p>The move inconvenienced shoppers and angered many Second Amendment advocates already upset over the mall\u2019s 2015 firearms ban.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is completely ridiculous.
