Mundon King was not available for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Jeanine Lawson, a Republican member of the Board of Supervisors in Prince William, where some of the Democrat bill\u2019s sponsors hail from, who ran for Congress this year said of the Democrats\u2019 bill: \u201cSixteen year olds are not adults.\u00a0Their brains are not fully developed and they\u2019re deeply affected by peer pressure. Parents must approve their driver\u2019s license, field trips and skipping class. Parents are their guardians in the truest sense of the word.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Left doesn\u2019t care about the troubled teens they leave in their wake. They use them, evidenced by the hateful way they treat detransitioners.\u00a0And now they are trying to separate them from the people who care for them most-their parents.\u00a0It\u2019s unconscionable and despicable.\u00a0It\u2019s Virginia Democrats today,\u201d She spoke to The Daily Wire.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, Republican delegate Dave LaRock from Clarke (Frederick) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/loudoun-county-schools-tried-to-conceal-sexual-assault-against-daughter-in-bathroom-father-says\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Loudoun<\/a> Introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/lis.virginia.gov\/cgi-bin\/legp604.exe?231+ful+HB2280\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House Bill 2280<\/a>, asserting that parents have a right to children\u2019s health records and blocking the ability for minors to consent to medical procedures without their parents.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire was informed by LaRock that \u201cActivists, including those in schools, are doing everything they can to hide life-altering conversations and decisions from parents, even, in some cases, deliberately misinforming parents and children. This is not in the best interests of the students or parents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust over a year ago, Virginia voters strongly sided with parental rights over the \u2018we know best\u2019 education bureaucracy, and elected a \u2018Parents First\u2019 Governor. This new law I\u2019m proposing will support parent\u2019s rights to protect their children\u2019s wellbeing,\u201d He stated.<\/p>\n<p>LaRock and two other Republicans proposed a similar proposal. <a href=\"https:\/\/lis.virginia.gov\/cgi-bin\/legp604.exe?231+ful+HJ505\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">constitutional amendment<\/a> that would add to the commonwealth\u2019s Bill of Rights the \u201cRights of parents. That there exists a fundamental right of parents to direct the upbringing, education, and care of their children. The Commonwealth shall not infringe these rights without demonstrating that its governmental interest as applied to the person is of the highest order and not otherwise served.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another Virginia Democrat is Delegate Elizabeth Guzman from Fauquier. She previously stated she would introduce legislation that could benefit parents. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/virginia-democrat-bill-would-criminally-prosecute-parents-who-dont-affirm-their-kids-as-transgender\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">criminally prosecuted<\/a> If they don&#8217;t \u201caffirm\u201d their child\u2019s decision to transition genders.
