I don\u2019t know anybody who becomes anything if they\u2019re just handed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/money\">money<\/a>,\u201d Osmond shared his thoughts with the publication.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo me, the greatest gift you can give your child is a passion to search out who they are inside and to work. I mean, I\u2019ve done so many things from designing dolls [and much more]. I love trying [and] I wanna try everything. I\u2019m a finisher.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cPaper Roses\u201d Singer stated that she wanted her children to understand the importance of hard work and dedication.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s one of my rules with my kids. If you start it, you finish it, you don\u2019t ever have to do it again, but you gotta finish. And, I just think all [an inheritance] does is breed laziness and entitlement. I worked hard and I\u2019m gonna spend it all and have fun with my husband.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cDonny and Marie\u201d An alum explained that she is generous when necessary. But, she encourages her children not to stop working for whatever they have.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t not help my children. I mean, [if] they need help [buying] a car or something, [I will pitch in,]\u201d Osmond spoke on Tuesday. \u201cI love them to learn. You don\u2019t love something if you don\u2019t earn it. And so, even when they get their first car, you pay for half of it, get a job and learn that self-worth that [it] gives you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is consistent with Osmond&#8217;s 2020 statements in which she expressed the same opinion about her earning not being passed on to her children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think you do a great disservice to your children to just hand them a fortune because you take away the one most important gift you can give your children, and that\u2019s the ability to work,\u201d Osmond <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2020\/03\/03\/the-talk-marie-osmond-why-she-isnt-leaving-her-children-money\/4937124002\/\">said<\/a> during an episode of The Talk, adding that she\u2019s not leaving \u201cany money\u201d to her children.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou see it a lot in rich families where the kids, they don\u2019t know what to do and so they get in trouble. Let them be proud of what they make. I\u2019m going to give mine to my charity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eight children were born to the singer, including five adopted. Osmond\u2019s son, Michael, committed suicide in February 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Osmond has eight grandchildren, whom she says she loves spoiling. Osmond said she\u2019s the \u201cfun grandma.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just feel like this is the best time of our lives as women. Now I\u2019m a grandma and I get to just spoil my grandkids,\u201d She spoke. \u201cI don\u2019t have to raise them. Good luck.
