However, the Centers for Disease Control continue to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/travelers\/international-travel-during-covid19.html\" class=\"stylish-link\"><span>require<\/span><\/a><span>With very few exceptions, international travelers who travel by air must present proof of COVID-19 vaccination before they can enter the United States.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A group of House Republicans would like to resign this mandate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Kentucky Republican Rep. Thomas Massie just introduced legislation to override the CDC requirements and prevent a similar requirement being reimplemented. Republican co-sponsored his legislation. <\/span><span>Representatives Mary Miller, Ralph Norman and Scott Perry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIf you watched C-SPAN last week, you saw 434 Members of Congress gathered in the Capitol screaming, yelling, cheering, and speaking. Many of these members are unvaccinated, and many haven\u2019t taken boosters,\u201d Massie <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/massie.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=395511&#038;mibextid=Zxz2cZ\" class=\"stylish-link\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cSo, why do we subject visitors who want to see their families to this COVID-19 double standard?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe CDC\u2019s unscientific mandate is separating too many people from their families and has been doing so for far too long. At the moment, a negative COVID-19 testing is not enough documentation to be allowed into the US. But, being vaccinated and having a positive test is. So, you can test negative and not have COVID but still be denied entrance to the US because they\u2019re worried you might bring in COVID since you\u2019re unvaccinated. Is that possible?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>What\u2019s more, it\u2019s long been clear that while it still protects against serious illness and death, the COVID-19 vaccine does not stop infection or transmission. It doesn&#8217;t matter if Americans are vaccinated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>There are many parts of the world where effective COVID-19 vaccines aren\u2019t widely available. People from these areas and people who choose not to get vaccinated due to personal or medical reasons are being punished by the current mandate.
