Some justify the participation as necessary to grow. \u201cAmerican exceptionalism\u201d While others choose not to participate in the elite event,<\/p>\n<p>Georgia Governor The two GOP members who will be participating in the ceremony are Rep. Maria Salazar, R-Fla., and Brian Kemp. \u201cAmerica (Un)Bound\u201d Event at the meeting. America (Un)Bound will discuss what to expect from America\u2019s \u201creshaped legislative landscape\u201d Both in terms of foreign and domestic policies. WEF 2023 will be held in Davos between Jan. 16\u201320.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGovernor Kemp looks forward to traveling to Davos to share with leaders who the State of Georgia\u2019s long record of conservative governance, protecting individual liberty, and championing opportunity can serve as a model for economic success across the country and around the world,\u201d a spokesperson from Kemp\u2019s office <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/StateAffairsGA\/status\/1613260229675720714\">said<\/a> In a statement. The statement did not include any further information about the trip, or his plans to make remarks.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson representing Salazar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/here-are-the-republicans-attending-the-world-economic-forum-next-week\">told<\/a> The Daily Wire she will highlight \u201cAmerican exceptionalism and opportunities\u201d The event is open to all participants in a free market economy.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats like Illinois Gov. will join Kemp, Salazar and others at the panel. J. B. Pritzker, Sens. Joe Manchin (D.W. Va.), and Chris Coonss (D. Del.) as well as Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.).<\/p>\n<h2>Justifications for Attendance<\/h2>\n<p>According to the U.S. Embassy, Reps. Darrell Issa and Mike Gallagher (both from California) are also expected to attend the Davos meeting.<\/p>\n<p>In a Jan. <a href=\"https:\/\/issa.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/congressman-issa-statement-world-economic-forum\">press release<\/a>Issa argued that his attendance at the Davos meeting was justified by the fact that he had previously taken the message of \u201cAmerican exceptionalism\u201d He made it known to everyone he could throughout his career. \u201cplaces that may not agree.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The WEF has grown over the years. \u201cmuch wrong\u201d The obvious dangers of the Chinese Communist Party and the global energy crisis, climate extremem, and the crippling COVID-19 locksdowns. The WEF invited Azerbaijani and Congo presidents to its annual meeting. It also offered a platform for a top Chinese official. Issa admits that these are both mistakes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo conservative should be unwilling to go where progressive activists, world leaders, and the mainstream media are gathered and tell them when they are wrong. I believe we benefit from participating in conversations where we tell the truth about America\u2019s point of view,\u201d Issa declared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should not accede to being excluded from a deeper dialogue at the World Economic Forum any more than being shut out of college campuses, online platforms, or public forums. This is what liberals are doing all over the world to drive away dissent and prevent free speech.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Threat to Freedom<\/h2>\n<p>Gallagher&#8217;s spokesperson told The Daily Wire, that although he was invited to the conference by Gallagher, he decided not to go.<\/p>\n<p>According to the U.S Embassy in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Sen. James Risch (R &#8211; Idaho) was previously listed as a member the U.S. delegation that was to attend the WEF meeting. However, an updated list does not mention Risch\u2019s name. A spokesperson for Risch confirmed that he was not present at the event.<\/p>\n<p>Florida\u2019s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis recently took a dig at Davos participants, describing them as a threat to a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AleksDjuricic\/status\/1610339705769304066\">speech<\/a> This month, earlier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe threats to freedom are more complex and more widespread than they have been in the past. The threats can come from entrenched bureaucrats in D.C., jetsetters in Davos, and corporations wielding public power,\u201d He stated.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis stated in August that he did not want the values <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/govrondesantis\/status\/1562130957469114368\">Davos<\/a> Florida, but values from Dunedin, where he grew-up, were not imposed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThings like the World Economic Forum, those policies are dead on arrival in the state of Florida.
