Yes, it\u2019s a decline month on month \u2014 a mild one driven partly by the fact that warmer winter weather (and thus lower energy costs) is giving punished consumers a smidge of breathing room.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Even this small decline (which still places rates at historic highs!) does not change the truth. This is not the truth of the extent of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/12\/22\/the-pain-isnt-goin-away-inflation-cost-households-an-extra-10k\/\">the damage Bidenomics has done<\/a>. And the fact that it\u2019s <em>still<\/em> so high proves Biden\u2019s policies are doing ever more damage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Since Biden&#8217;s election, overall inflation has gone up by 13.7%.<strong> <\/strong>Compare that to 3.6% during the same period of the first Trump term. It has remained at or above 5 percent. <em>20 consecutive months<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/12\/new-yorkers-tell-painful-tales-of-inflated-food-costs-while-grocery-shopping\/\">December\u2019s \u201clow\u201d number still saw food prices rise 10.4%<\/a>The average mortgage payment now stands at 36%, compared to 12 months ago. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n\t<\/aside>\n<p>Since Biden&#8217;s passage of the American Rescue Plan 21-months ago, real wages have been declining with an overall drop of almost 4%.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In other words, we\u2019re poorer, paying more for food and shelter and there\u2019s no clear end in sight. We&#8217;re so grateful for this. <em>Other <\/em>Biden canard, i.e. that he\u2019s building the economy \u201cfrom the bottom up and middle out.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Amid all the ugly politics, it\u2019s commendable that the Federal Reserve hasn\u2019t flinched \u2014 and Chairman Jerome Powell\u2019s latest signals suggest it\u2019ll keep on raising interest rates as needed. However, the Fed is limited in its ability to do so against the backdrop of recklessly spending federal governments.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One ray of hope is that the Republicans hold the House. <em>Some<\/em> Although the party is full of fiscal hawks, it also includes plenty of pork-lovers. This means that it can be used as a brake. <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/12\/23\/house-passes-1-7t-spending-bill-dodging-shutdown-with-hours-to-spare\/\">Democrats\u2019 <\/a>big-spending dreams. <\/p>\n<p>Biden has many ways to continue bringing in unnecessary stimulus to our economy to bribe Dems. His newest student-loan-forgiveness plan is a not-so-shining example, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/12\/why-bidens-backdoor-student-debt-bailout-is-a-hot-mess\/\">with a price tag as high as $600 billion<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re clearly moving in the right direction,\u201d The president said so.<strong> <\/strong>Not as long as he\u2019s steering.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cTwo years in, it\u2019s clearer than ever that my economic plan is working.\u201d That was President Joe Biden\u2019s borderline insane response to the latest inflation data.\u00a0 Working?!?
