Ilhan Omar (D-MN) said during an interview on MSNBC over the weekend that investigations into President Joe Biden\u2019s classified document scandal are nothing more than a \u201cpolitical game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These remarks were made after CBS News reported that classified documents had been discovered at a Biden think-tank.<\/p>\n<p>More damaging information came out throughout the week, including subsequent classified documents found at Biden\u2019s home in Delaware.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Attorney General Merrick Grland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/merrick-garland-appoints-special-counsel-to-investigate-biden-classified-document-scandal\">announced<\/a> last week that he had appointed former U.S. Attorney Robert Hur \u2014 who served during the Trump administration \u2014 to be special counsel in the investigation after the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois John Lausch, who was assigned to do an initial review of the case, recommended to Garland that a special counsel be appointed.<\/p>\n<p>Omar made these remarks in a Saturday interview with Symone Sanders, when she said that Republicans had defended Trump following he was elected. \u201cliterally stole classified documents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Omar claimed Trump had insulted her \u201crefused to turn them over, lied about having them, made up some story about how he declassified them, [and] had to have his house raided in order for those documents to be found.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Omar insisted those Republicans should be the same \u201care now only interested in investigating Biden, who has cooperated, whose own staff and former staff have themselves turned these documents in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have to understand, Republicans aren\u2019t really interested in upholding the law, in following security protocols,\u201d She spoke. \u201cWhat they\u2019re interested in is playing a political game in now only wanting to investigate Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Omar stated that she was \u201cglad\u00a0that there is a special prosecutor that\u2019s been appointed to investigate this\u2026 because any time there is a deviance in regard to security protocols, that should be taken serious, it should be investigated.\u201d<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
