In 2013, for example, the Rocky Mountain Institute joined forces with China&#8217;s National Development and Reform Commission\u2014the government agency tasked with planning the communist nation&#8217;s economy\u2014to produce a <a href=\"https:\/\/rmi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/OCS_Report_ReinventingFireChina_2016.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> China was advised to replace its existing generators and appliances with newer models. &#8220;clean energy technologies.&#8221; The commission set climate goals which included energy reduction targets. The commission was notified when the targets were not met by local provinces in 2021.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qz.com\/2065891\/why-is-china-rationing-electricity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pushed<\/a> They are urging them to install electricity rations. &#8220;dimmed traffic lights that cause chaos&#8221;  &#8220;half-cooked rice in rice cookers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Rocky Mountain Institute was not the first green energy group that advocated for banning gas stoves. This is a fact that nearly 40% of U.S. homes still use gas stoves. The nonprofit&#8217;s recent influence is a result of the Biden administration aligning with some of the most vocal climate activists on the left. President Joe Biden already suggested a natural gas phaseout for federal buildings. This would ban the use of fossil-fuel equipment within new buildings by 2030. The move will be costly to taxpayers in the millions each year, according to leading green energy groups. <em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/biden-admin-says-its-natural-gas-phaseout-will-save-taxpayers-millions-it-will-do-the-opposite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> December<\/p>\n<p>Academic leaders revealed that the Rocky Mountain Institute&#8217;s biases, which include its public mission statement, and its work with China, are reflected in its study of gas stoves. <em>Free Beacon<\/em>. The study\u2014which spans just nine paragraphs\u2014was based on a hodgepodge of different data and methodologies spanning various years and countries, ranging from 2019 U.S. Census data to conclusions from a 2018 analysis in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Harvey Risch, Yale University professor and medicine, says it&#8217;s questionable to structure a research in that manner.
