I said \u2018Fine!\u2019 It was a favor,\u201d Larroquette said \u2014 but he admitted that, on his way out the door, Hooper had slipped him a little something for his trouble.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTotally true. &#8220;Totally true. He gave me marijuana, a matchbox, or whatever it was back then. I walked out from the place. [recording] Studio and patted him on his back. \u2018Good luck to you!&#8217;\u201d the actor added.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/botanical.com\/botanical\/mgmh\/h\/hemp22b.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Botanical.com<\/a> \u2014 which has published a lengthy list of street-terms for marijuana and other related paraphernalia \u2014 a \u201cmatchbox\u201d refers to approximately \u201c1\/4 ounce of marijuana or 6 marijuana cigarettes,\u201d or the amount of marijuana that might fit in a matchbox.<\/p>\n<p>The Louisiana native said that he has never even seen \u201cThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre,\u201d explaining that horror movies are not really his thing \u2014 but he did appreciate the fact that the movie did well and netted him roles narrating sequences in the sequels as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou do something for free in the 1970s and get a little money in the \u201890s,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Larroquette, who is part of the NBC \u201cNight Court\u201d reboot, famously withdrew himself from contention after four consecutive\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0488662\/awards\/?ref_=nm_awd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emmy wins<\/a>\u00a0for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series \u2014 from 1985-1988, during the show\u2019Original run.<\/p>\n<p>He was <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/night-court-john-larroquette-emmys-wins-consideration-end\/#john-larroquette-wasn-t-the-only-star-who-withdrew-from-emmy-nominations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stars are not the only thing<\/a> to take that step either \u2014 Candice Bergen bowed out after winning five times between 1989-1995 for her role in \u201cMurphy Brown,\u201d Oprah won seven awards in twelve years and Oprah Winfrey was the one to draw her name.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Actor John Larroquette admitted that he once took a role in a horror movie in exchange for \u201ca matchbox\u201d of marijuana.
