Schiff also demanded an intelligence assessment to determine if national security was being compromised. Schiff <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/live\/2022\/aug\/31\/trump-documents-move-hide-fbi-biden-politics-latest-updates\">Claim<\/a> Donald Trump was the former President \u201cknowingly put our national security at risk\u201d Mar-a-Lago, his Florida residence, with classified documents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fnmMv geuMB alqtB wqIGQ\">\u201cI do think it\u2019s the right move,\u201d Schiff spoke of the special counsel investigation. \u201cThe attorney general has to make sure that not only is justice evenly applied, but the appearances of justice are also satisfactory to the public. And here, I don\u2019t think he had any choice but to appoint a special counsel. And I think that special counsel will do the proper assessment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Rep. I think we ought to get that same assessment of the documents found in the \u2013 in the think tank, as well as the home of President Biden. I\u2019d like to know what these documents were. I\u2019d like to know what the IC\u2019s assessment is, whether there was any risk of exposure and what the harm would be and whether any mitigation needs to be done. I think that would be appropriate and consistent with what we requested in the case of Mar-a-Lago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;We have asked for an assessment in the intelligence community of the Mar-a-Lago documents,&#8221; Rep.
