That\u2019s a Problem,\u201d<\/a> Wren acknowledged that \u201c90 percent of patients diagnosed with COVID are actually in the hospital for some other illness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince every hospitalized patient gets tested for covid, many are incidentally positive,\u201d Wren wrote, citing Robin Dretler as an attending physician at Emory Decatur Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Wren offered an example.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA gunshot victim or someone who had a heart attack could test positive for the virus, but the infection has no bearing on why they sought medical care,\u201d She wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shocker. However, this admission comes too late.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of Wren\u2019s column, she expressed skepticism after the CDC released its latest Covid-19 death stats.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The CDC stated that at least 400 Americans are dying each day of Covid. Wren, however, questioned whether these deaths were caused by the virus or another illness.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt that rate, there would be nearly 150,000 deaths a year.
