Certain misdemeanors like hit-and-runs or public intoxication will instead be deferred to local law enforcement and courts.\n<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/virginia-teacher-allegedly-shot-six-year-old-student-identified\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VIRGINIA TEACHER ALLEGEDLY SCHOT SIX-YEAR-OLD STUDENT IDENTIFIED<\/a><br \/>\n<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you may know, with the increase in the trials in Circuit Court and the introduction of body worn camera and related recordings in each case, the OCA is inundated and left with insufficient time to prosecute every infraction and low-level offense that is charged,\u201d Biberaj wrote<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/wjla.com\/news\/local\/loudoun-county-commonwealths-attorney-buta-biberaj-list-crimes-including-hit-run-will-no-longer-be-prosecuted-misdemeanor-virginia-youngkin-democrat-republican-nova-speeding-reckless-fairfax\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Based on a copy the letter<\/a><br \/>\n ABC7 News.\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To better serve our community and to ensure that we are providing safety and justice, we need to reallocate our resources towards the more egregious cases that are being charged by law enforcement and threaten the safety of our community,&#8221; She spoke.\n<\/p>\n<p>Biberaj presented a list containing misdemeanors she thought would be out of her control, such as reckless driving, speeding and trespassing, underage drinking, failure in court appearances, noise complaints and other.\n<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION FROM THE WASHINGTON XAMINER<\/a><br \/>\n<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<p>These changes will be in effect Monday. Any misdemeanor offenses committed prior to that date will be prosecuted.
