This was stated in a press release that was provided to The Daily Wire. \u201cIt\u2019s time for the Supreme Court to reconsider a decades old case that favors corporations and the government over the religious rights of employees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In 2012, Gerald <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/supreme-court\/supreme-court-takes-christian-postal-workers-religious-claim-rcna65544\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Groff<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/lawandcrime.com\/supreme-court\/scotus-to-hear-case-of-christian-postal-worker-who-quit-rather-than-deliver-amazon-packages-on-sundays\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">All rights reserved<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/firstliberty.org\/groff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Working<\/a> for the United States Postal Service in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, after looking for a job that wouldn\u2019t make him work on Sundays. Groff, in keeping with his religious beliefs wanted to keep the Christian Sabbath.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Groff was unhappy with his job status when the post office started Amazon package delivery Sundays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Groff asked for a religious accommodation to ensure that he could keep the Sabbath. He was granted accommodation at first and then allowed to work more on other day. He was only offered options by the postal service that would allow him to work on Sundays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Groff resigned and sued the United States Postal Service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In May <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/litigation\/usps-doesnt-have-exempt-carrier-who-wont-deliver-packages-sunday-2022-05-25\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ruling<\/a>The Third U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with a lower court\u2019s findings favoring USPS.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to the appeals court\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/fingfx.thomsonreuters.com\/gfx\/legaldocs\/znpneojzyvl\/EMPLOYMENT_RELIGIOUS_POSTAL_decision.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Take the decision<\/a>, a district court \u201cfound that USPS provided evidence\u201d In various areas \u201cundue hardship.\u201d It also stated that Groff Sundays should be avoided \u201cwas an undue hardship\u201d It would force the only other substitute carrier to work every Sunday, even though they work. \u201cas needed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Groff\u2019s attorneys <a href=\"https:\/\/firstliberty.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Groff-Cert-Petition_Redacted.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">petitioned<\/a> The Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/government\/us-supreme-court-asked-revive-postal-workers-religious-bias-claim-2022-08-23\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Take into account<\/a> Answer two questions and complete the case.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">One concern was whether an employer can prove that there is \u201cundue hardship\u201d Their business is thriving because of a \u201crequested accommodation\u201d places a burden on a worker\u2019s co-workers instead of the business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">They also requested the Supreme Court to inquire if it should. \u201cdisapprove\u201d a prior decision <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-usa-court-religion\/u-s-supreme-court-rebuffs-claims-of-workplace-religious-bias-idUSKBN2BS18G\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Made<\/a> In <a href=\"https:\/\/supreme.justia.com\/cases\/federal\/us\/432\/63\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trans World Airlines, Inc.<\/a> (1977) The following is an excerpt from the \u201cmore-than-de-minimis-cost test\u201d was not to grant religious accommodations.
