Buttigieg, his husband Chasten. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/feature\/nbc-out\/pete-buttigieg-husband-chasten-welcome-two-children-their-family-n1278512\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">adopted<\/a> Twins born in September 1998. <\/p>\n<p>During Buttigieg\u2019s paternity leave, a staffer for the transportation secretary emailed Iowa Sen.
