He then made the claims to GOP lawmakers in a column. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uncoverdc.com\/2023\/01\/11\/the-fbis-problem-is-real-and-tackling-it-requires-a-change-in-leadership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Uncoverdc.com<\/a>. Friend said that Wray inspired his column. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/america-crime-problem-real-tackling-requires-respect-cops\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News: I wrote it<\/a> He decried urban lawlessness, widespread contempt for police enforcement and other forms of urban lawlessness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere was Wray\u2019s focus in 2020 when violent anarchists attempted to establish an \u2018autonomous zone\u2019 in Seattle, rioters attacked a federal courthouse in Portland, and looters burned businesses in Minneapolis?\u201d Friend wrote. \u201cInstead, in recent years the FBI devoted large swaths of its $10 billion budget to investigate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/new-information-raises-more-questions-about-federal-arrest-of-pro-life-father-mark-houck\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christians praying outside abortion clinics<\/a>, parents speaking loudly at school board meetings, and citizens expressing election fraud concerns on social media.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wray is in a \u201cprecarious situation,\u201d Friend claims that the House Judiciary Committee formed a separate panel to address the issue. \u201cweaponization of government,\u201d It appears that the FBI is in the crosshairs of Wray. Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has been one of Wray\u2019s harshest critics and will now have subpoena power to probe alleged FBI malfeasance.<\/p>\n<p>Recent weeks saw a landmark lawsuit filed against the federal government by the lawyers general for the state of Missouri and Louisiana. Internal Twitter communications, released by Elon Musk, have revealed that the FBI pressured the social networking platform to censor conservatives. It even paid Twitter $3.4million for it to respond, which legal scholars believe was likely a violation the Constitution. Wray\u2019s FBI has <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/12\/21\/fbi-blasts-conspiracy-theorists-over-twitter-files-claims-to-provide-critical-information-to-protect-company\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Critics dismissed \u201cconspiracy theorists<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The FBI also allegedly pushed Twitter and Facebook to suppress the New York Post\u2019s bombshell reporting on Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop just prior to the 2020 presidential election, used false information to get warrants to spy on members of former President Trump\u2019s campaign, and spurred a Department of Justice investigation of Trump based on a discredited dossier commissioned by Hillary Clinton\u2019s 2016 presidential campaign. The bureau has been headed by Wray since 2017 when Trump appointed him.<\/p>\n<p>Friend also questioned the FBI\u2019s role in the plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, its August raid on Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago home, and its failure to apprehend the January 6 pipe bomber.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrafalgargroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/COSA-FBI_DOJ-Opinion-Full-Report-0824.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August poll<\/a> It was found that almost half of the independents and 68.3% of Republicans believe that the FBI and the Department of Justice are a good idea. \u201ctoo political, corrupt, and not to be trusted.\u201d Those numbers could get even worse for Wray\u2019s agency once Jordan\u2019s committee starts holding hearings and calling witnesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had now dozens of whistleblowers from the FBI come to us,\u00a0FBI agents, come to us and tell us just how political things are at that particular agency, so yeah, we know it\u2019s going on, and frankly, the American people have common sense,\u201d Jordan spoke on Wednesday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/jim-jordan-heads-committee-investigate-weaponization-federal-government-crazy-stuff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appearance on Fox Business Network\u2019s Varney &#038; Co<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan mentioned as the most recent example the contrast between the FBI\u2019s treatment of Trump and President Joe Biden, who just this week was revealed to have allegedly hoarded classified documents at his home and an office he used.
