Washington, D.C., is her hometown. \u201cpolitically weaponized\u201d The bureau from the top.<\/p>\n<p>Nicole Parker was a Miami Field Office Special Agent from 2011 to October 2022. She wrote in Fox News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/why-left-fbi\">op-ed.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI became politically weaponized, starting from the top in Washington and trickling down to the field offices,\u201d Parker said.<\/p>\n<p>Parker said the bureau\u2019s trajectory, priorities, and governing principles transformed during her 12-plus years of service. Parker was an investigator on federal crimes before she resigned. These included the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High school shooting in Parkland Florida, the Cesar Sayoc pipe-bomb case and multimillion-dollar Ponzi schemes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery day, I woke up and embraced being an FBI special agent,\u201d Parker said. \u201cUntil things changed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She stated that the Miami Division has always treated her with the utmost respect. She became tired and disengaged from the Miami Division after a while. \u201cegregious mistakes, immoral behavior, and politically charged actions taken by a small but destructive few FBI employees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI no longer felt that I was the type of agent the FBI valued,\u201d She wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2015, when James Comey (ex-director) inserted himself in the 2016 presidential election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, federal agencies have been subject to heavy criticism.<\/p>\n<p>Parker observed in her Op-Ed that \u201cone politicization issue after another\u201d This caused her to give up her badge, which also included uniformed FBI agents kneeling in support of protesters in Washington, D.C., during June 2020&#8217;s George Floyd demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough agents have their First Amendment rights, they are not at liberty to publicly express any potential political support while on duty wearing official FBI gear,\u201d Parker stated.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/jmd\/political-activities\">Justice Department<\/a>All employees are subject the Hatch Act. \u201cgenerally prohibits Department employees from engaging in partisan political activity while on duty, in a federal facility or using federal property.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rather than facing reprimand for the agent\u2019s actions, Parker said many received promotions while others were rewarded with $100 gift cards by the FBI Agents Association.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s as if there became two FBIs,\u201d Parker wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Parker also noted that the bureau had lowered the eligibility criteria for recruitment. This, Parker said, has damaged credibility and caused Americans to lose trust in the agency. \u201chighly ethical\u201d Agents may be required to carry the weight in certain cases.<\/p>\n<p>Parker writes that these actions have resulted in Americans losing trust in the FBI, and low morale for many FBI employees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a result, teams are less cohesive, less trusting of each other, and less safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>More notable recent actions from the bureau under scrutiny include agents storming Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago compound last summer to the agency allegedly working with Big Tech to censor dissenting voices against mainstream narratives surrounding the national election process pandemic-related information.<\/p>\n<p>House Judiciary Republicans, Reps. Jim Jordan and Mike Johnson (R\u2013OH), sent a letter last month to FBI Director Christopher Wray \u201cdemanding\u201d All documents and communications between FBI employees, representatives of Twitter, and the FBI from January 1, 2020 to the present.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are investigating politicization and abuses at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as Big Tech\u2019s censorship of conservatives online,\u201d The representatives stated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/house-judiciary-republicans-press-documents-between-fbi-and-twitter\">News release<\/a>You can also add the \u201crevelations sadly reinforce our deep concerns about the FBI\u2019s misconduct and its hostility to the First Amendment. \u201d<\/p>\n<p>House Republicans approve a \u201cSelect Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government\u201d This would expose collusion between federal agencies, private companies on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is about the First Amendment, something you guys used to care about,\u201d Rep.
