According to Baltimore-based outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=fox+5+baltimore&#038;oq=fox+5+bal&#038;aqs=chrome.0.0i512l2j69i57j0i22i30l7.2135j0j7&#038;sourceid=chrome&#038;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WBFF<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hammons went to St. Joseph\u2019s in 2019 seeking a hysterectomy to treat his gender dysphoria, a procedure used to remove a person\u2019s uterus. The procedure was approved by Hammons&#8217; doctor and set for January 2020.<\/p>\n<p><span>However, after Hammons\u2019s doctor discussed the upcoming procedure with St. Joseph\u2019s chief medical officer, it was determined the facility could not do such a procedure because it did not align with the ethical and religious directives it was required to follow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hammons was told then that the procedure couldn&#8217;t be performed. He was then told that the procedure could not be performed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThis court has determined that undisputed facts establish that, as a matter of law, Defendants discriminated against Plaintiff on the basis of his sex,\u201d Deborah Chasanow, District Court Judge, wrote her ruling. She also wrote that the hospital refusing to perform the surgery violated the state\u2019s anti-discrimination laws and that the hospital, which receives Medicare and Medicaid funding, violated a section of the Affordable Care Act.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for Circuit 8th Circuit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/biden-admin-cant-force-catholic-doctors-perform-gender-surgery.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blocked<\/a> Biden\u2019s Health and Human Services department from enforcing finalized regulations pertaining to Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act against several Catholic organizations, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/catholic-hospital-cant-refuse-gender-transition-surgery-court.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The Christian Post<\/a>. The appeals court found that the Biden administration couldn&#8217;t force hospitals with religious affiliations to provide transgender care.
