The effects are being felt by millions, leading to surging levels of depression.\u00a0We believe our approach can allay the lives of those suffering from depression, and eventually scale to other cognitive disorders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The implant, which is roughly the same size as a fingernail&#8217;s, is placed underneath the skin next to the skull. The implant is small in size. \u201cprescription pod\u201d which powers the implant snaps onto the patient\u2019s hair. A psychiatrist, who does not need to be close by, then monitors the device to adjust it based on the patient\u2019s needs. Forbes reports that Inner Cosmos has recently been granted FDA Investigational Device Exemption approval to allow it to conduct human studies. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/charliefink\/2023\/01\/10\/inner-cosmos-raises-10-million-to-treat-depression-with-bci-implant\/?sh=4f3125b36584\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The procedure to insert the device takes about 30 minutes at an outpatient facility according to The Daily Mail <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sciencetech\/article-11624921\/First-implant-treat-depression-REVEALED-New-brain-chip-set-rival-Elon-Musks-Nueralink.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Not noted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s 140 million Americans every year that use attention or depression drugs, that\u2019s more users than have iPhones,\u201d Gribetz <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesciencemarketresearch.com\/videos\/meron-gribetz-inner-cosmos-implanted-brain-computer-interface-lsi-europe-22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a> At a tech conference last summer. \u201cAntidepressants are the most widely prescribed solution for depression. And they blast your entire brain with neurotransmitters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou end up with severe side effects such as suicidality when we switch cocktails, mental fog fatigue, libido loss, and of course, the efficacy is just over placebo.
