According to the CPSC, gas stoves emit greenhouse gases. \u201charmful pollutants\u201d Also<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/09\/biden-administration-reportedly-weighing-national-ban-on-gas-stoves\/amp\/\"> Other reports have been cited that claimed to link gas stoves<\/a> to heart disease, respiratory problems, cancer, and other conditions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And if that sounds like junk science, that\u2019s because it is.<\/p>\n<p>One of the studies that they cited supports the statistic that gas stoves are linked to more than one in ten cases of childhood asthma. <a href=\"https:\/\/junkscience.com\/2023\/01\/no-new-study-does-not-link-gas-stoves-with-asthma-in-children\/\">wasn\u2019t even an actual study<\/a> that conducted research on children &#8211; but rather an analysis of previously published studies on gas stoves and asthma in kids that they mixed together, and the results weren\u2019t statistically significant.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After being mostly mocked for the potential ban, the CPSC released a statement that they haven\u2019t proposed any regulatory action yet, and that \u201cAgency staff plans to start gathering data and perspectives from the public on potential hazards associated with gas stoves, and proposed solutions to those hazards later this year.\u201d Regardless, they\u2019re leaving the potential of an outright ban on the table.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Representative of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, tried to score some social-media points from the news by stating that gas stoves are \u201clinked to brain damage\u201d When mocking Rep.
