Marjorie Taylor Greene of the Republican Party of Georgia (R-GA), to remove a Twitter video that he claimed was a cover for one his songs.<\/p>\n<p>Greene was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2023\/01\/09\/dr-dre-didnt-license-song-rep-marjorie-taylor-green-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly<\/a> Her account was blocked after a Twitter video that contained the song was reported to the platform for copyright violations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe write you on behalf of our client, Andre Young p\/k\/a Dr. Dre, composer and performer of the hit song \u2018Still D.R.E.,&#8217;\u201d an attorney for Dre said in a letter to Greene. \u201cYou are wrongfully exploiting this work through the various social media outlets to promote your divisive and hateful political agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Greene posted the instrumental version of the song, which means the lyrics were stripped out of the music.<\/p>\n<p>Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, \u201chas not, and will never, grant you permission to broadcast or disseminate any of his music,\u201d the letter said. \u201cThe use of \u2018Still D.R.E.\u2019 Without permission, copyright infringement is a violation of 17 U.S.C. 501.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne might expect that, as a member of Congress, you would have a passing familiarity with the laws of our country,\u201d The letter was continued. \u201cIt\u2019s possible, though, that laws governing intellectual property are a little too arcane and insufficiently populist for you to really have spent much time on. We\u2019re writing because we think an actual lawmaker should be making laws not breaking laws, especially those embodied in the constitution by the founding fathers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter requested that Greene reply by Wednesday night and confirm that she had accepted their request to take down the song.<\/p>\n<p>Greene fired back at Dre in a statement to TMZ, blasting the subject matter of Dre\u2019s music.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile I appreciate the creative chord progression, I would never play your words of violence against women and police officers, and your glorification of the thug life and drugs,\u201d Greene stated.<\/p>\n<p>Greene shared a screenshot with the caption of her statement. \u201cThe next episode,\u201d This is Dre&#8217;s troll song, and it is one of his most popular songs. \u201cThe Next Episode.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Next episode..https:\/\/t.co\/o6g2WVxYBu&#8221;>pic.twitter.com\/o6g2WVxYBu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rep.
