<\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/buttigiegs-flights-for-me-but-not-for-thee-moment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OPINION &#8211; BUTTIGIEG&#8217;S &#8220;FLIGHTS FOR ME BUT NOW NOT FOR THEE&#8221; MOMENT<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>Buttigieg flew to New York City from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on April 7. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/pete-buttigieg-took-government-jet-nyc-radio-interview-aclu-meeting-flying-back-hours-later\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a> Reports, and return on the same Cessna Citation 560XL aircraft, to attend a <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/white-house\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">White House<\/a> Meeting later that day. <\/p>\n<p>The trip included a 40-minute conversation with Deborah Archer (ACLU president), a 20 minute meeting with DOT employees and a nearly one-hour interview on the radio station <i>The Breakfast Club<\/i>. <\/p>\n<p>It was <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/pete-buttigieg-flies-frequently-taxpayer-funded-private-jet-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> Buttigieg, who had been on at least 18 taxpayer-funded private flights since he was elected, took heat in December for his role in the settlement. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/buttigieg-southwest-airlines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Southwest Airlines cancels flights in debacle<\/a> During the holidays. <\/p>\n<p>Buttigieg flew from New York City to New York City, and then returned on the government plane on April 7. Buttigieg returned the next day to New York City with a commercial airline. <\/p>\n<p>Fox News was told by DOT officials that Buttigieg had to fly an FAA aircraft because of a last-minute White House meeting. They claimed that it cost $228 per flight or $456 total. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Due to a late-notice schedule change, he had to travel back to Washington for a White House meeting which fell during a previously planned two-day trip to New York,&#8221; A spokesperson for the DOT said. <\/p>\n<p>The DOT claimed that the aircraft used by the department was cheaper than a commercial flight, but it didn&#8217;t respond to questions regarding the total cost of both flights. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION FROM THE WASHINGTON XAMINER<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>According to Energy Information Administration data and DOT records from the Trump era, the FAA charged DOT $2095 for a flight between Washington and New York in June 2017. <\/p>\n<p>Buttigieg has stated that fighting <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/climate-change\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Climate Change<\/a> Could be &#8220;<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/buttigieg-says-fighting-climate-could-be-more-challenging-than-winning-world-war-ii\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More challenging<\/a>He has raised eyebrows about more than just winning World War II.
