It was allegedly found at a Biden think-tank.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"1\">CBS News reported on the discovery of approximately 10 classified documents that Biden had when he was vice president, at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"1\">Attorney General Merrick Grland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/biden-center-classified-documents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Responded<\/a> To aid in the discovery, made in November, Trump appointed John Lausch, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, to review classified material and to determine the next steps.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"1\">Biden was pressed about the matter while meeting with leftist Mexican President Andr\u00e9s Manuel L\u00f3pez Obrador.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"1\">Bloomberg News reporter Jennifer Jacobs <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JenniferJJacobs\/status\/1612606552162160642\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Not noted<\/a> Twitter: Biden didn&#8217;t answer questions regarding classified material that was discovered.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"1\">The Republican National Committee (RNC), later uploaded video, showed Biden staring down at his notes when he was asked questions about the matter.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden is asked by a reporter as he leads the press out of the room. &#8220;Any response to the discovery of classified documents at your office?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Biden does not answer. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/baf4mFwSPP\">pic.twitter.com\/baf4mFwSPP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1612611149266288640?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 10, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"5\">The files were discovered by Biden\u2019s personal attorneys when they \u201cwere packing files housed in a locked closet to prepare to vacate office space at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C.,\u201d Richard Sauber was special counsel to President Obama, according to CBS News.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"6\">CBS was told by sources that the information was in a box with non-classified materials.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"7\">CNN <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/01\/09\/politics\/joe-biden-classified-documents-upenn\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-reader-unique-id=\"8\">reported<\/a> Some of the classified material that was discovered included top-secret files. \u201csensitive compartmented information,\u201d The materials may contain highly sensitive information derived from intelligence sources, which is a sign that they are classified as highly sensitive.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"11\">Sauber said that the moment the material was found \u2013 on November 2 \u2013 that the White House\u2019s counsel\u2019s office immediately notified the National Archives and the material was retrieved the next day.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"13\">After learning of the classified material, National Archives alerted DOJ. The FBI is also involved.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"14\">\u201cThe discovery of these documents was made by the President\u2019s attorneys,\u201d Sauber said. \u201cThe documents were not the subject of any previous request or inquiry by the Archives. Since that discovery, the President\u2019s personal attorneys have cooperated with the Archives and the Department of Justice in a process to ensure that any Obama-Biden Administration records are appropriately in the possession of the Archives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"17\">The DOJ&#8217;s review of the material was the first step to determine what additional actions might be warranted.<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"18\">According to the report, Lausch is the only remaining U.S. attorney from the Trump administration.
