I didn\u2019t know any of that stuff when I had my kids,\u201d Barrymore stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did not have the blueprint and I felt like a failure a lot. I felt really overwhelmed and like, \u2018I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m doing \u2026 I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m doing and I\u2019m gonna have to learn on the job,\u201d She continued.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/01\/09\/drew-barrymore-felt-like-a-failure-in-early-years-of-motherhood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barrymore<\/a>47-year-old Judith drew comparisons between how her parents behaved as a child and the behavior of parents in recent years. She noted that parents in the 1980s and 90s had taken a more tolerant approach to parenting. \u201chands off\u201d Approach their children with this approach<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt led to resiliency,\u201d She spoke of the \u201chand off\u201d approach, adding, \u201cAnd now we\u2019re like, helicopter parenting and coddling and, you know, watching everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s funny, I was so unforgiving of myself when my kids were younger and now that they\u2019re almost \u2014 Frankie\u2019s almost 9 and Olive\u2019s like 10, it\u2019s shifted into something very different and I\u2019m having the best time ever,\u201d She spoke.<\/p>\n<p>Barrymore&#8217;s revelation that she was pregnant made headlines right before the holidays. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/drew-barrymore-refuses-to-buy-her-girls-christmas-presents-heres-why\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">doesn\u2019t do Christmas presents<\/a> With her girls. I\u2019d rather invest [in that than in] a doll house or something.
