The Student was rushed to the hospital, but was later declared dead.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Desert Oasis High School principal Ian\u00a0Salzman In a letter to my parents, I wrote that Hughes \u201csuffered a medical emergency during an athletic event\u201d Until paramedics arrived, I was given medical aid by staff. Fox 5 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5vegas.com\/2023\/01\/06\/student-las-vegas-school-dies-after-medical-emergency-during-sports-event\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">\u201cIt is with a heavy heart that I inform you that the student passed away. The school and the entire district mourn the loss of this young life,\u201d Salzman wrote.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>According To her family Hughes She had chest pains during the match and was able to go to the sidelines until she collapsed. Fox 5 reported.<\/p>\n<p>Hughes\u2019 family had reportedly considered pulling her from sports as she had been experiencing ongoing cardiovascular problems. The family reported that she had been cleared by a doctor to participate in athletic competition.<\/p>\n<p>The Clark County Coroner\u2019s Office has not yet released the cause Hughes\u2019\u00a0death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">A GoFundMe page has been set up by Hughes\u2019 family for funeral costs and had already raised over $2,000 two hours after it was posted Friday afternoon.\u00a0As Of Saturday Afternoon, the fundraiser is over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/ashari-hughes?qid=8c189fb8348bc2be558beafb0ba62125\">surpassed<\/a> $24,000 of its $50,000 goal.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cShe called football the real love of her life!
