Union <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/marriage\">married<\/a> Chris Howard was an ex-NFL football player. After only four years of marriage, they separated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn our first marriage, neither one of us felt like the marriage should get in the way of our dating,\u201d Union <a href=\"https:\/\/armchairexpertpod.com\/pods\/gabrielle-union\">explained<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA part of it was like keeping up with his activities, like, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s what you\u2019re doing? You\u2019re going to feel this one,\u2019 and I just felt entitled to it as well,\u201d She shared her thoughts with Shepard. \u201cI was paying all the bills, I was working my a** off, and I felt like that\u2019s what comes, the spoils of riches.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike my dad before me, whoever has the most gets to do whatever the hell they want is what I thought,\u201d She went on. \u201cIt was just dysfunctional from day one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shepard stated that he could relate as he had experienced the same thing. \u201ccomplicated\u201d Gef\u00fchle about cheating on past partners. Since 2013, Kristin Bell, the podcast host, has been married to Kristin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wish I had more guilt for some of that,\u201d Union spoke of her past infidelity. \u201cIt was such a stupid relationship that should have never got out of the dating phase.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also recalls how a therapist had helped her. \u201cliterally\u201d told her that she couldn\u2019t fathom how the couple \u201cmade it out of the dating phase\u201d Howard was also there for her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd [the therapist said] we should probably look for a way to amicably dissolve\u2026 because you have not one thing in common, no morals, no values,\u201d Union added. \u201cThe only thing you have in common is other people, so why don\u2019t you just go be with other people?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Union is married to Dwyane Wade, a former NBA star since 2014.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shepard continued to tell her, and she went on. \u201chorny for validation and having certain kinds of guys like me and want me\u201d Howard was her husband at the time she got married.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn hindsight, yes, I absolutely needed something from them that I was not providing for myself, and neither was my marriage, but I think I provided something for them too,\u201d Union<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGuys can be just as big as groupies, if not more, than women, so it was a trade off\u2026 We were both crappy people going through s*** and clearly not going to enough therapy.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gabrielle Union and her first husband were unfaithful to one another, but the actress says she feels justified in her behavior.
