Adam Schiff, D-Calif.<\/u><\/a>, were outraged after reading Elon Musk and journalist Matt Taibbi\u2019s latest &#8220;Twitter Files&#8221; Entry alleging Schiff lobbied Twitter in order to suspend journalists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Published Tuesday, the latest round of the Twitter Files \u2013 internal documents revealing how Twitter engaged in censorship and promoted disinformation in tandem with government agencies for the past few years \u2013 revealed that Schiff\u2019s office asked Twitter to remove journalist Paul Sperry and others from the site.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Taibbi, the person who posted the Twitter Files posts-by-post on Twitter at Musk&#8217;s direction, provided documentation proving that &#8220;the office for Democrat and House Intel Committee chief Adam Schiff&#8221; Ask &#8220;Twitter to ban journalist Paul Sperry.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/twitter-files-rep-adam-schiffs-office-requested-tech-giant-suspend-accounts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>TWITTER FILES: REP. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) requested that Twitter suspend certain conservative journalists. &#8220;Twitter Files.&#8221;<br \/>\n      <span class=\"copyright\">(Getty Images)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Taibbi shared a document that contained correspondence between the &#8220;House Permanent Select Intelligence Committee&#8221; \u2013 Schiff\u2019s office \u2013 and Twitter, which included a request to &#8220;Suspend the many accounts, including @GregRubini and @paulsperry, which repeatedly promoted false QAnon conspiracies and harassed [REDACTED].&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As Taibbi\u2019s documentation indicated however, Twitter was reluctant to fulfill such a request, responding, &#8220;we\u2019ll review the accounts again but I believe [REDACTED] mentioned only one qualified for suspension.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In response to Schiff\u2019s office demanding Twitter remove &#8220;any and all content&#8221; Also available: &#8220;quotes, retweets, and reactions to that content&#8221; Twitter refused to answer any questions regarding its employees.<\/p>\n<p>A Twitter employee responded. &#8220;no, this isn\u2019t feasible\/we don\u2019t do this.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sperry, who is an author and columnist for the New York Post, was later removed from Twitter. Glenn Beck, conservative commentator in August 2022, said it was because of unrelated reasons. <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/03\/adam-schiff-wanted-reporter-paul-sperrys-account-suspended\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>due to tweets of his<\/u><\/a> about the FBI\u2019s raid on former President Donald Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago residence.<\/p>\n<p>Sperry, however, was reinstated to Twitter this Week and responded immediately to the latest Twitter Files revelations. Sperry claimed that Schiff wanted his suspension because Sperry was reporting on the subject at the time. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/whistleblower-democrats-deroy-murdock\"><u>the <\/u><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/whistleblower-democrats-deroy-murdock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>whistleblower<\/u> <\/a>who exposed the phone call to Ukraine that prompted Trump\u2019s first impeachment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sperry wrote on Tuesday evening &#8220;Around the same time Adam Schiff&#8217;s office was lobbying Twitter to have me banned, Schiff&#8217;s chief of staff Patrick Boland was making threats to my employer \u00a0http:\/\/RealClearInvestigations.com about my stories exposing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/schiff-parody\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Noopener noopener\">Schiff&#8217;s impeachment whistleblower<\/a> &#038; his ties to Schiff&#8217;s staffer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sperry tweeted another link to his 2019 article. Scott Applewhite, File)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Conservatives were appalled at Schiff\u2019s apparent attempts to silence Sperry on Twitter, and used the platform to rip into the lawmaker.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>UFC champion Jake Shields thought Schiff should be allowed to tweet his thoughts. &#8220;I would like to request Elon Musk remove Adam Schiff from twitter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kristina Woong, Breitbart News Pentagon correspondent summarized the shocking story about censorship in tweeting. &#8220;Then-Intel Committee Chairman Adam Schiff\u2019s office wanted Twitter to shut down one of the most effective journalists pushing back on his phony Russia collusion narrative. How very anti-freedom of the press this is.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Stephen L. Miller, a contributing editor at The Spectator, commented sarcastically. &#8220;Adam Schiff just using his 1A rights.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Adam Housley was a journalist who wrote &#8220;This is disturbing. I don\u2019t care what political party you follow\u2026this cannot be accepted. @AdamSchiff needs to answer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>RealClearInvestigations senior writer Mark Hemingway tweeted, &#8220;Of course, Sperry&#8217;s real crime was doing vital reporting exposing the mistruths about Russia collusion, a subject Schiff lied about for years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tom Fitton, President of Judicial Watch asked if this was constituted &#8220;Another reason to expel Schiff from Congress?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Conservative actor Randy Quaid quipped, &#8220;Schiff is a piece of Schiff!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Conservative pundit Will Chamberlain and lawyer Will Chamberlain suggested a solution via tweeting &#8220;Adam Schiff should be expelled from Congress.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Author Jim Hanson remarked, &#8220;The only surprising thing here Is they didn&#8217;t just wipe everyone out.
