Pressure from<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/democrats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democrats<\/a><br \/>\n Biden might be able to achieve more by working alone to shift his priorities.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/white-house\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">White House<\/a><br \/>\n Biden stated that he is open to working with<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/republican\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Republicans<\/a><br \/>\nAndrew Bates, Deputy Press Secretary for the United States, called it mutually beneficial. Republicans who voted to pass bipartisan legislation remained in their seats.<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/midterms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">midterms<\/a><br \/>\nIn a memo to Bates before Christmas, he said this.<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/mccarthy-ends-first-day-speakers-election-shaky-ground\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MCCARTHY ENDS FIRST DAY OF SPEAKER\u2019S ELECTION ON SHAKY GROUND<\/a><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Bates wrote about Biden: \u201cHe goes into the new year with his hand outstretched.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden will be visiting Washington on Wednesday<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kentucky\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kentucky<\/a><br \/>\nWhere he is currently meeting with<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/senate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Senate<\/a><br \/>\n Minority Leader<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/mitch-mcconnell\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mitch McConnell<\/a><br \/>\n (R-KY), to celebrate the success of bipartisan bills.<\/p>\n<p>But there are fewer avenues for cooperation as the Republican-controlled<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/house-of-representatives\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House<\/a><br \/>\n navigates its own leadership challenges, said Jim Manley, former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid\u2019s chief spokesperson, alluding to the uphill battle faced by House Republican Leader<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kevin-mccarthy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kevin McCarthy<\/a><br \/>\n He tries to keep the place locked down<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/kevin-mccarthy-fails-first-ballot-vote-for-speaker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">votes needed<\/a><br \/>\n to secure the speaker\u2019s gavel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI get that Democrats pulled off a bunch of big wins last year despite such a narrow margin in the Senate, but it\u2019s difficult to imagine that happening again given the chaos that has engulfed the House Republican caucus,\u201d Manley stated.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, consider using the<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/biden-administration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden administration<\/a><br \/>\n It is expected to pass laws from a variety of bills in different stages of implementation, including the bipartisan infrastructure bill, the CHIPS and Science Act.<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/faith-freedom-self-reliance\/inflation-reduction-act-should-be-renamed-economic-freedom-reduction-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inflation Reduction Act<\/a><br \/>\n.<\/p>\n<p>But with issues Biden ran on in 2020 but hasn\u2019t yet tackled, the president may find another approach necessary: ignoring the bipartisan bridge-building that his aides uphold as a sign of his accomplishments.<\/p>\n<p>Biden has already issued executive order, including for his own health.<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/student-loans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">student loan forgiveness plan<\/a><br \/>\nParty activists still want more debt relief, climate action and marijuana reforms. The president will be under pressure to fulfill his campaign promises.
