However, she is vowing to fight the disease. \u201cwith all I have got.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Navratilova, the Wimbledon champion, revealed to her fans that she had been diagnosed with a swollen neck in November.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThis double whammy is serious but still fixable,\u201d The 66-year old Navratilova <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11592179\/Wimbledon-great-Martina-Navratilova-66-diagnosed-throat-breast-cancer.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>According to the <i>Daily Mail<\/i> \u201cI\u2019m hoping for a favorable outcome. (Roy Rochlin\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Navratilova had already beat cancer once, when she was declared free from cancer after a battle with breast cancer in 2010.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>A representative of her claims that her outlook for recovery has been lowered in a formal statement. \u201cgood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMartina Navratilova has been diagnosed with stage one throat cancer,\u201d The statement is as follows: \u201cThe prognosis is good and Martina will start her treatment this month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cancer type is HPV, and this particular type responds really well to treatment. Martina noticed an enlarged lymph node in her neck during the WTA finals in Fort Worth. When it didn\u2019t go down, a biopsy was performed, the results came back as stage one throat cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the same time as Martina was undergoing the tests for the throat, a suspicious form was found in her breast, which was subsequently diagnosed as cancer, completely unrelated to the throat cancer,\u201d The statement was continued.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">\u2018Both these cancers are in their early stages with great outcomes. Martina won\u2019t be covering the Australian Open for Tennis Channel from their studio but hopes to be able to join in from time to time by Zoom.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>During her 40 year tennis career, Navratilova has won 59 grand slam singles\/doubles titles. This made her the oldest Grand Slam winner.<\/p>\n<p>She was a frequent sports commentator after her retirement. She was also one of the first openly gay tennis players.
