That was what top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi stated on Sunday in his first public remarks since he was appointed head of the Communist Party&#8217;s foreign relations office.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Wang was replaced by Qin Gang as China&#8217;s foreign ministry. However, he was widely believed to continue to play a prominent role within foreign policy following his promotion to the Politburo of the Communist Party, the country\u2019s highest decision-making body, in October.<\/p>\n<p>Wang called on major countries to publish an essay in Seeking Truth, the Party journal. &#8220;set an example&#8221; Faced with multiple challenges, China has cited Russia&#8217;s increased cooperation over 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Over the past year, we have unremittingly explored the correct way for the two major countries of China and the United States to get along with each other,&#8221; He wrote.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The two countries should establish a way of getting along with mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation and put China-U.S. relations back on the right track of health and stability,&#8221; He stated.<\/p>\n<p>The time Wang served as foreign minister caused tensions to rise between Beijing and Washington over a wide range issues, including trade to Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>In his Sunday essay, he stated that Taiwan was still at the &#8220;core of China&#8217;s core interests&#8221; And the &#8220;foundation&#8221; The foundation of China&#8217;s relationship with the United States.<\/p>\n<p>(Reporting by David Stanway, Editing by Neil Fullick<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SHANGHAI, (Reuters) \u2013 China and the United States should pursue dialogue and not confrontation and avoid making the same mistakes as during the Cold War.
