Mike Parson, on July 30, 2021, was convicted. Mike Parson, July 30, 2021\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/mkt_app\/missouri-governor-pardons-couple-who-pointed-guns-at-protesters_3932206.html\">pardoned the couple<\/a>\u00a0and shortly following the move,\u00a0McCloskey\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/st-louis-man-wants-his-guns-back-after-governors-pardon_3935900.html\">filed a lawsuit<\/a>\u00a0St. Louis City Circuit Court to request the return of the guns and payment of the fines to his wife and to secure the firearms.<\/p>\n<p>Circuit Judge\u00a0Joan Moriarty rejected the request on Dec. 28, saying that the governor\u2019s pardon doesn\u2019t have any impact on the plea agreement the couple had agreed to.<\/p>\n<div class=\"lee-article-text\">\n<p>\u201cPlaintiff and his wife are required to follow through with their end of the bargain,\u201d She reported, wrote\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/news\/local\/crime-and-courts\/judge-pardoned-gun-waving-lawyer-mark-mccloskey-wont-get-his-guns-or-money-back\/article_8d84af3f-e6f2-5038-b860-1c64a458847e.html\">St. Louis Post-Dispatch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile the governor\u2019s pardon does clear plaintiff\u2019s record of the conviction,\u201d She added: \u201chis guilt remains and the terms of an agreement that predicated said guilt also remains.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>McCloskey indicated that he will appeal, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<h2>Law licenses suspended<\/h2>\n<p>In February 2022, the\u00a0Missouri Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/law-licenses-suspended-for-mccloskeys-the-missouri-couple-who-held-off-protesters-outside-their-home_4266507.html\">indefinitely suspended<\/a> the McCloskeys\u2019 law licenses. The court also suspended the suspension and placed the McCloskeys on probation for one year. This means that they can still practice law but they will lose their probation if they fail to follow the guidelines. \u201cRules of Professional Conduct.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alan Pratzel, the court\u2019s chief disciplinary officer, previously\u00a0filed a motion in court to have both Mark and Patricia\u2019s licenses suspended,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcur.org\/news\/2021-09-20\/st-louis-couple-who-waved-guns-at-blm-protesters-face-suspension-of-their-law-licenses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-summari-detected=\"true\" data-summari-has-summary=\"false\">KCUR-FM<\/a>\u00a0It was reported at the time.
