I don\u2019t think so,\u201d He stated. \u201cI don\u2019t know. It\u2019s a long night. This is a telethon with no disease. Do you understand? We\u2019re here all night! Passing time!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cohen and Cooper instead drank shots of nonalcoholic substances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we are doing is we are taking a mystery shot!\u201d Cohen said.<\/p>\n<p>They had shots of buttermilk and pickle juice, Mediaite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/tv\/cnns-andy-cohen-anderson-cooper-address-the-new-years-eve-no-booze-rule-but-its-okay-theyre-drinking-something-else\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen of CNN kept the New Years Eve mystery shots alive with a new drink, buttermilk <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5MxpKEO1Mh\">https:\/\/t.co\/5MxpKEO1Mh<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/cBYLkgUP7o\">pic.twitter.com\/cBYLkgUP7o<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mediaite (@Mediaite) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Mediaite\/status\/1609371906276311041?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 1, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This year will be the first New Year\u2019s Eve show overseen by Licht since he took over the network in February. During the meeting, Licht reportedly told staffers that drinking on-air eroded the presenters\u2019 credibility and \u201crespectability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last year, there was a lot of controversy over Lemon and Cohen&#8217;s alcohol-fueled rants during the broadcast. First,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/im-a-grown-a-man-kiss-my-behind-don-lemon-launches-self-pitying-rant-on-new-years-eve\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lemon ranted<\/a>\u00a0Alisyn Camerota, comedian, and Dulce Slovan discuss the criticisms they receive.\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t give a \u2014 what you think about me, what do you think about that?\u201d Lemon. \u201cI\u2019m a grown-a** man. I don\u2019t care what you think about me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am who I am,\u201d Continued Lemon \u201cI\u2019m a grown, successful black man who a lot of people hate because they\u2019re not used to people seeing me \u2014 and people like me \u2014 in the position that I am. To be able to share what I \u2026 my point of view on television, it freaks people out. And you know what? You can kiss my behind. I do not care. I don\u2019t care. I really don\u2019t care. I have one life, and this is who I am, and I feel very, um \u2026 blessed and honored to be in this position to be able to do this. So all the hate I get? It\u2019s motivation to me. Bring it.
