It includes everything from policies regarding bathrooms to pronoun usage and teams. The tool was created with a variety of materials from nongovernmental organizations, such as the National LGBT Health Education Center or the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSchools play a critical role in supporting the health and academic development of all youth, including the success of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer\/questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Creating and sustaining inclusive school environments, policies, programs, and practices that include LGBTQ youth is one strategy for improving the health and academic success of all youths,\u201d This is the text of the resource.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The CDC and NORC research group at University of Chicago developed the resource. This resource is not available. \u201crequired\u201d It is described as \u201ca collection of curated resources and tools to help schools enhance LGBTQ inclusive policies, programs, and practices.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cinclusivity\u201d Assessments can be broken down into sections that are for educators, administrators, users and school staff. There are three levels to inclusivity, ranging from \u201cCommit to Change\u201d To \u201cAwesome Ally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One section of this tool asks whether the user recognizes that gender, gender identity and sexual orientation can all be used. \u201cexperienced on a continuum\u201d Another asks the user if he\/she is okay. \u201cassumes\u201d gender identity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It also asks school employees if they use gender-neutral language \u201cpartner\u201d Instead of \u201cboyfriend\u201d And \u201cgirlfriend,\u201d in addition to using students\u2019 preferred pronouns.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Administrators are paid a higher rate \u201cinclusivity\u201d If they have policies that permit students to use the restroom\/locker room according to their gender identity, grade will be given. Administrators are also asked to confirm that the policies are technologically sound. \u201callow student access to age-appropriate LGBTQ content and information.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Administrators should consult the Human Rights Watch and Gender Spectrum for information.
