It is disguised in scientific language to make it appear professional.<\/p>\n<p>Levine supported online censorship during a virtual address to Federation of State Medical Boards, May, in a speech regarding the COVID-19 epidemic. The speech attracted renewed online attention in recent days. Levine then addressed medical misinformation about the pandemic. \u201canother area of substantial misinformation that is directly impacting health equity in our nation, and that is the health equity of sexual and gender minorities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is substantial misinformation about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2022\/10\/19\/gender-obsessed-left-will-pry-my-children-my-cold-dead-hands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gender-affirming care<\/a> for transgender and gender-diverse individuals,\u201d He stated. \u201cWe are in this nation facing an onslaught of anti-LGBTQI+ actions at the state levels across the United States, and they are dangerous to the public health. They target and politicize evidence-based treatments that should be considered the standard of care and actually aim to criminalize, criminalize medical providers, including physicians providing care to their patients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe positive value of gender-affirming care for youth and adults is not in scientific or medical dispute,\u201d Levine claimed. \u201cSo, we all need to work together to get our voices out in the front line, we need to get our voices in the public eye, and we know how effective our medical community can be talking to communities, whether it\u2019s at town halls, schools, conversations with others, and we need to use our clinicians\u2019 voice to collectively advocate for our tech companies to create a healthier, cleaner information environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Health and Human Services has not responded to the inquiry. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/author\/tyler-oneil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Daily Signal<\/a>\u2018s request for comment on how Levine responds to criticism and whether he stands by his call for censorship.<\/p>\n<p>Levine used the euphemism to explain the type of medical intervention he supports. \u201cgender-affirming care.\u201d This term is used to describe various attempts to make an biologically male body look like a woman&#8217;s or vice versa. \u201cgender identity\u201d that often\u2014although not always\u2014corresponds to the gender opposite that of a person\u2019s biological sex. <\/p>\n<p>It covers so-called puberty blocking drugs such as Leuprorelin.
