However, the margin was smaller than the 511-vote gap. <a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/story\/5397154\/recount-confirms-kris-mayes-victory-in-arizona-attorney-general-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to KTAR News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mayes released a statement expressing gratitude to voters and her team. \u201cI\u2019m excited and ready to get to work as your next Attorney General and vow to be your Lawyer for the People,\u201d She added.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">My statement regarding the recount results. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Fo1vFVEkXo\">pic.twitter.com\/Fo1vFVEkXo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kris Mayes (@krismayes) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/krismayes\/status\/1608520436245229568?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 29, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The final vote count was increased by 623 votes due to the recount. Hamadeh received 427 votes and Mayes 196 votes. This narrowed the gap to just 280 votes from roughly 2.5 million. \u201cshockingly high discrepancy.\u201d Hamadeh stated that his legal team would be reviewing the case \u201coptions to make sure every vote is counted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The results of the recount show that my opponent\u2019s lead has been cut by nearly half from 511 to 280 votes. This is a shocking discrepancy. They knew the results of the recount was going to show a LARGE discrepancy due to tabulation errors and fought against our election contest knowing this. This includes Mark Finchem, Republican secretary of state candidate Mark Lake, and GOP Secretary of State Mark Finchem. Lee Jantzen, judge of the Mohave County Superior Court rejected the case last Thursday, saying: \u201cThe bottom line is you just haven\u2019t proven your case, you haven\u2019t met the burden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, automatic recount results were announced for two other races.
