I spent three hours wrapping these presents,\u201d Ciraulo continued. \u201cWe didn\u2019t get to watch her open a single present.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat are we doing wrong here that our daughter would think this is okay??\u201d In the video caption she asked, and said she was \u201copen to suggestions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TikTok users voiced their opinions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is so not a parenting fail. You cannot control your kid\u2019s actions even if you try. You\u2019re likely a good momma with all that effort. Don\u2019t sweat it,\u201d One popular comment is:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly mama, sit her down, and then explain what she did, why you\u2019re hurt by it and ask her why she did it,\u201d A second person may be suggested.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery day this app confirms my decision to never have kids,\u201d A third person was observed.<\/p>\n<p>Ciraulo was contacted by several people. She told them <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insider.com\/tiktok-parenting-fail-criticism-christmas-gifts-viral-video-2022-12\">Insider<\/a>The video was used to exploit her daughter, she claimed. \u201cI wasn\u2019t \u2018shaming\u2019 her in my video, though, and I would never do that publicly or privately. That is just not the way we parent,\u201d She told the publication.<\/p>\n<p>In a follow up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@jessicaciraulo\/video\/7181310494635085099\">video<\/a>The mom claimed that she had given some toys to her daughter as punishment. She also claimed her daughter wasn\u2019t a \u201cbad kid\u201d But \u201clacks impulse control\u201d And \u201cmade a bad decision\u201d It is partly due to the \u201camount of time that she spends on her tablet and some of the things she\u2019s learning there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Insider heard from Ciraulo, that her behavior led to her taking the initiative. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/technology\">tablet<\/a> Her daughter used the device for five hours daily, and she was unable to leave it behind. \u201cShe\u2019s not getting it back, maybe ever,\u201d She elaborates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was teaching her to be competitive and materialistic in an unhealthy way,\u201d Ciraulo continued. \u201cShe would also watch a lot of YouTube videos of other kids playing those games, and that was reinforcing those concepts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She confirmed that her daughter was aware she had to wake her parents before opening the presents.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A New Jersey mom has some theories about why her 5-year-old daughter thought it was acceptable to open every Christmas gift in the house before anyone else woke up.
