Patriots such Oath Keepers founder Elmer Stewart Rhodes.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;number one&#8221; law school has been going downhill for a long time, but we trace its precipitous decline to 2017, the year that Heather Gerken became the law school\u2019s (first ever female) dean. First was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/education\/2018\/09\/24\/yale-law-students-sit-out-class-travel-supreme-court-protest-kavanaugh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bitching<\/a> The Kavanaugh nomination was defeated. Then came the <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/a-yale-law-student-sent-a-lighthearted-email-inviting-classmates-to-his-trap-house-the-school-is-now-calling-him-to-account\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">meltdown<\/a> The traphouse-gate is closed. Then came the <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/hundreds-of-yale-law-students-disrupt-bipartisan-free-speech-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pathetic hissy fit<\/a> That disrupted a bipartisan panel discussing free speech<\/p>\n<p>By the time the Dobbs decision was leaked\u2014we\u2019d wager by a Yale Law clerk\u2014students at the law school were <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/unrelenting-daily-confrontation-after-roe-leak-yale-law-students-call-for-ostracizing-conservative-classmates-and-tossing-out-constitution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">calling<\/a> To overthrow democracy, and to abolish the Constitution. Can the legal profession withstand the coming flood of snot nosed snowflakes? America could?<\/p>\n<p>One man wasn\u2019t going to wait to find out.<\/p>\n<p>In September, Fifth Circuit judge James Ho <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/citing-concern-for-free-speech-12-federal-judges-say-they-wont-take-clerks-from-yale-law-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> Yale Law School clerks would not be hired by him again. &#8220;Customers can boycott entities that practice cancel culture,&#8221; Ho said. &#8220;I wonder how a law school would feel if my fellow federal judges and I stopped being its customers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>More than a dozen of Ho\u2019s colleagues, including the 11th Circuit\u2019s Elizabeth Branch, eventually joined the boycott.<\/p>\n<p>The gambit was a harsh ultimatum to an institution that relies heavily on clerkship placements for its prestige: either give up your reputation or make a pair. Gerken took the school off the U.S. News and World Report Rankings.
